How many posts is "a few" in order to post a link?

This is really annoying. I'm just trying to post a log in the DK forum, and it won't let me because I just signed up tonight. So I've been making posts, and it still ain't letting me. Exactly how many fluff posts do I need to make before I can post a link to a log?

It not hard to post some fluff posts, some people have posted 10s of thousands of them.

What he meant was post the URL with breaks or something, so that people can take it and put it in their bar. A link text that you can click that will take you right to the page it is associated with.

You can also make your post without the link, then report your post and include the URL in the post report and ask a mod to edit it in for you. We're happy to in these kinds of situations.

Indeed, 10 posts, else I have seen other users fixing the link in their reply for it as well. Tziva gave a good way. Else, 10 posts aren't that difficult as long as they are held constructive and contributing, then they wont be deleted by mods that might think it is something else.

I thought trying to circumvent the forum filters was against the rules.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of requiring 10 posts before you can post link? Why not just remove the restriction?

The purpose of the restriction is mostly to reduce spambots and advertisers from coming and posting links all over the place. In this sort of case where someone is trying to get help and a link is needed to get that help, it's fine.
