Anyone else feel stuck? BM Gear

This is going to be a bit of complaining thread. I am not a mythic raider anymore, and im not the best player and i often need some help getting better. Just to get that out of the way.

Does anyone else feel stuck with gear right now? Really I can only get 1:1 swaps for tier 20, hoping of warforge or titan forges, then rings necks and trinkets.

Because the way the zoobuild functions, you pretty much have to run 2pT19. Then you have optimal leggos which for me still sim to be the belt and call of the wild, which means my CoF trinket is still optimal. thats 9 pieces of gear that you really cant change. Leaving really only 2 rings, 1 trinket and a neck that you can swap around =/

Wasnt the purpose of abandoning 8 piece gear sets to allow for more flexibility? I am getting 45 ilvl upgrade drops, with optimal stats, that i cant use because I have to use a set piece from 6 months ago.

Oh yes, i could choose to run dire frenzy instead, but its less damage, just as i could choose to equip and use that 45 ilvl upgrade and do less damage.

I wish they had nerfed the T19 2 set, so I can drop it lol even if I did less damage now, I'd not be forced to use it. Heroic T19 2 piece is still better simming for me than replacing it with heroic TOS. Unless I am just doing something wrong sim wise, or optimizing the gear better.

This is when you move on to the next tier to at least replace the gear that you can. Pretty much everything outside of your T19 can be replaced by going into the higher difficulty. If you are gear capped for Heroic then yeah, you are kind of stuck unless you want to join a mythic guild. Beyond that, maybe time to pick up an alt.

Alternatively you could try MM. It is a superior spec and gives you more leeway in terms of not wearing 2pcT19. Don't get me wrong, it's a good set bonus, but not nearly as mandatory as it is for BM.

Pure opinion. It is a horrible spec in my eyes. The only time MM has been decent was HFC and ICC. If top guilds can use BM to clear content so can the rest.

It needs a nerf along with a corresponding buff to the class. Guildy was lucky and got a 940 tier 19 piece....he aint dropping 2 tier 19 for a long time. I need 940+ off pieces to drop tier 19.

Yeah I am stuck at heroic level, so any chance of getting mythic isn't happening lol.

Just silly having to rely on older tier pieces because the spec basically requires it.

Kind of how before two charges of dire beast/frenzy were baseline, the legendary shoulders were required to maximize dps.

The enjoyment of the spec is pure opinion. MM actually performing better is pure fact. Yes, guilds are clearing bosses with BM hunters, both specs are close enough that it is not really detrimental to the success of the group to have one or the other. What does still remain true is that throughout the entirety of TOS, MM is putting up higher numbers than BM. Was MM more enjoyable in Wrath or WOD? That's your opinion. Is MM performing better than BM in TOS? yep

He probably meant gameplay, not performance. As he said, it's his opinion if he doesn't enjoy it.

On topic - BM has quite rigid item requirements for each slot, including relics, which means you are relying on warforging/titanforging for upgrades. BM has just become super wonky in general since the 7.2.5 changes and the ever increasing iLvl of top end gear (which BM doesn't even benefit that much from getting compared to other specs). Being locked into specific gear and specific talents which promote a (in my opinion) pretty boring style of play makes me wonder what Blizzard is even doing with the spec atm.

I'm in the same boat- No trinkets, even 930+ forges, beat my current CoF+Bracer combo, I have to wait for relics with the right traits to forge to upgrade my weapon, I have 4pc T20 and 2pcT19 that isn't beaten by 930+ forges... Really all I can upgrade right now are rings/neck/boots, and keep playing the Nethershard lottery for.... Arcanocrystal.

Agreed with OP. I find it ironic that they changed the shoulders and made the effect baseline for all of BM, creating these issues we're seeing now when MM has a very similar issue in DPS disparity w/out boots.

As Holovik stated, MM is the superior spec for every single fight...as long as you have optimal legendaries (IE, Ring/Gloves + Boots for ST, Belt/Gloves + Boots for MT).

It's going to be great in a few weeks time; When convergence gets the nerfhammer, and if you don't have high titanforged NH 2 set, MM is going to be *awful* to play due to the infrequencies of trueshot.

I suffer a lot because of this. My progress is 5/9 mythic however i couldnt have the chance to farm Nighthold bosses on mythic, especially Elisande + Gul'dan (Yet i dont have a kill on mythic Gul'Dan) Some of the gear i have below;

T20: 930 Head - 930 Gloves - 930 Back - 915 Chest - 915 Shoulders - No Leggings

T19: 890 Head - 905 Gloves - 905 Back - 905 Chest - 900 Leggings - No Shoulder

What do i use atm ? T20 Head/Gloves/Chest/Shoulders + T19 Leggings/Cloak

-> I have replacements for those T19 Leggings + Cloak by 930 items in my bag thou in sims my T19 2 pieces still outperforming them.

-> My guild doesnt run Nighthold Mythic runs, ofc its easy to farm up to Elisande with pugs, but all i want is mythic Gul'Dan and its not possible to pug it.

Over all blizz needs to nerf T19 2 set bonus and give us more than 4% flat damage on top of it in 7.3. I dont wanna solve equations and drown in this problem anymore.

I felt in this situation since release of TOS.
Interresting enough, I got Parsel early, and allways simmed higher with 4p20 and other new TOS loot with Zoo build.
Sims where roundabout 2-5k dps between most leggos (Parsel, Shoulder,wrist+cof, belt), Prydaz,boots and apex ring fell a bit behind
Lately I got the Huntsmasterring, and i gave it a try cause I tend to fail, keeping up the parsel buff.
Now with 2p19-4p20 and Huntsmaster+Belt it plays nice but the simdps gap to MM hunters is 200k dps which is huge. Pre Tos I was in the top10 hunters on my server, now I´m just about to fall out of top 20. MM made huge gains in TOS, but BM improvements where minimal
Still for the ease of play and the lack of MM Leggos, i stay on BM and as long as I don´t fail and die, I can keep up with the Damage of our guilds DPS.
A Slight buff to bm would be nice to smaller the gap to MM, which I have no problem with beeing the Higher Number Spec, as BM has higher Mobility...
