Very nice parts you got there!
The PSU is a bit overkill though :x

Thanks. Reason why I went with 850W is because I'll most likely add a 2nd 980 Ti by mid September.

Haswell-E and 980 Ti are such power hogs.. Depending if you are running anything else of it or overclock, 850W might not be enough to support 980 Ti SLI. Not recommended at least, the AX series can go above the stated wattage, but it will strain the PSU quite a bit more than intended.

Eh, it should be just about enough. But SLI is cutting it pretty thin yeah.

Honestly though, I personally have had SLI.. and I think it's garbage. Very few games support it properly. You're better off with just a single powerful card.
But I don't know what games you play nor on what resolution you do so.

Yeah, you're probably looking at about 800W total system power draw for two 980ti and a Haswell-E CPU. Running a power supply at 97% won't break it, but it won't do it any good either.

Just finished building my new PC two days ago. I still need to "managed" a few cables and add some LEDs, but it's all there. It took a long time to put together.

Which monitor do you play games on? I personally prefer aligning my keyboard and mouse to my main screen and your setup like that with them in the middle would feel strange to me :x

My two 980tis and my 3930k overclocked were actually tripping my 860w platinum causing shutdowns. Have same case and cpu cooler as you. I ended swapping in my 1250w I've had sitting around and no more random shut downs.

If your 3930k is still running at 4.8 ghz, that most likely be the reason for the added power draw, thats a high overclock.

It's actually turned down to 4.6 Ghz now but still at 1.48v. Nearly a 3 year old chip so it's degraded and can't maintain the higher clock while under 1.5v now. Definitely a major reason it uses so much power though.

Added an Asus AC68 dual band AC1900 wireless kit to my desktop today which I am thrilled with. I have been battling with network speeds on Powerline kits for the last couple of years and it got to the point where I can't even stream anything if the TV in the living room is on, because that is where the router is. Hard wiring was too much work for what it is worth and my signal reception is pretty good on wireless, not to mention very stable.

I never did share my new setup since I built my most recent computer and got a new desk, so here it is:

    Internal Components
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K @4.0GHz
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Hero Z97
    RAM: 16GB DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws 2133Mhz
GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 980ti SC edition
Storage: 250GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD (for OS and select programs), 2TB Seagate 7200RPM, 64MB cache HDD (everything else)
Networking: TP-Link N900 Wireless Dual Band Adapter
    PSU: Seasonic 750W 80PLUS Gold
CPU Cooling: Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
    Bluray/DVD: Asus Black drive

    External Components
    Case: Coolermaster Storm Stryker
    Monitors: BenQ 24" 144Hz, 1080p (left), HP 24" 60Hz, 1080p (right)
Speakers: Logitech Z623 with subwoofer (under desk)
    Keyboard: Logitech G710+
Mouse: Logitech G602 wireless gaming mouse (battery life on this thing is amazing)
Headset: Logitech G35 surround sound gaming headset
    Controller: Xbox One controller
Battery Backup/Surge Protector: Some bigass CyberPower one...can't remember the exact specs, but it keeps everything running anywhere from 10-20 minutes after the power goes out, depending on what I'm currently doing on the PC

And on the other side of the room behind me I have this:

    55" Samsung 1080p, 60Hz Smart TV
Xbox One with an external 4TB HDD
    LG Soundbar with subwoofer

My wife has a 60" Samsung 1080p, 240Hz 3D Smart TV in the next room over with surround sound speakers and another Xbox One with a 2TB external HDD. That TV is our main TV that we watch all of our movies and shows on.

    It's truly a monitor and not a TV? =S

    Also, wasabi... yuck.

Suppose if it performs, then that's good!

Technically it's a TV panel. There are some 'monitors' that use TV panels but well... use pc connectors. Go figure. They're pretty rare and are mostly the big screen ones, most of the time it's a cheap korean/chinese brand.
