fios speed problem

hello mmo champion community!

i just got fios installed yesterday. apparently the new router i got is N so i went out and got an N adapter since i was having connection problems this morning.

i did a speed test with my original NIC and was geting avg of 4 down and 2 up
with the new N adapter i get 6.5 down and 3 up

im supposed to b getting 15/5
my laptop is getting 12/3
my roomates laptop is getting 17/6

any idea what my problem might be?

ok my NIC is a Gigabyte GN-WP01GS PCI WLAN Card(Turbo)
the adapter i purchased is Linksys AE2500 Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter
