I'd build my home right smack dab between Borean Tundra and Sholazar Basin for these reasons:
1. Perfect weather. Cold on one side. Warm on the other. If it gets too cold, I'll move a few feet over. If it gets too warm, I'll move a few feet over.
2. Sholazar seemed relatively protected from the scourge, and the scourge seem to care so very little about Borean Tundra after the defeat of the Cult of the Damned.
3. If all hell breaks loose, I'll use the titan gate in Sholazar and poof to Ungoro.

I'd happily live out my days being a traveling priest with Fiona and her caravan. Or, I'd stay in Hearthglen and chill with Tirion.
If you want to make raiding content harder, turn off DBM. Voila! Your encounters will be much more challenging without bleeps and someone telling you to "run away, little girl."
