Items and Rewards

  • Shards of Domination
    • [With weekly maintenance in each region] Blood Link – The damage and healing amount has been increased at all ranks by 20%.
    • [With weekly maintenance in each region] Winds of Winter – The amount of damage and healing stored by the Winds has been increased at all ranks by ~45%.
      • Developers’ note: The difference between the three Rune Words for the Shards of Domination system is bigger than we want it to be. We have identified and fixed a bug in Winds of Winter which was preventing some damaging and healing abilities from counting towards its total, and we have retuned Winds of Winter and Blood Link so that the relative power between Rune Word bonuses is more balanced.
  • Jotungeirr, Destiny’s Call will now reset its cooldown at the end of boss encounters.
  • Fixed an issue where Ticking Sack of Terror could trigger more than intended in the presence of multiple trinkets.

Spit Emote Removed on TBC Classic PTR
The /spit emote has been removed on the Burning Crusade Classic PTR. Players can no longer target others with the emote, however they can still spit on the ground.

It is speculated that this change is a result of people spamming /spit on players riding the Reawakened Phase-Hunter mount, the reward for purchasing the Burning Crusade Deluxe Edition.

Lead Game Designer Jeremy Feasel tweeted that he's having a look at cleaning up toxicity in the game, so this could be one of many changes to come.

Which motive is that? The one some rando on an internet fansite decided for blizzard while doing something so similar to what blizzard is doing it isn't even funny?

I struggle at parsing your sentence. But I'll just use this opportunity to reiterate my point:

Blizzard doesn't care about toxicity unless it affects their cash shop sales.

    Just replace it with /pick

It's been the beginning of the end ever since BFA with fattie race and every leader being female and ever male leader being a mean bastard ripe for replacement of a kind and caring female. This is RPG in the west currently. In 50 years these years will look like the second dark ages with digital witch burnings and crusades.

    Blizzard seems disconnected from reality.

Something is going wrong at the company internally and they have the audacity to attack the players for being abusive.

Seems they don't have mirrors at Blizzard HQ. It's always someone elses fault.

Because /rude, /insult, /fart, /pick and others are still in the game because they aren't, currently, being used to 'offend' people in-game.

It's funny we can kill people, loot corpses, skin animals, burn houses and crops, not to mention straight up genocide in various quests and activities but spitting is across the line.

They are smart though, now the community will splinter and fight amongst themselves over something stupid so that their rape culture can be forgotten.

Besides me imagination there's also the observation that Blizzard pushing the boundaries of wat players consider acceptable by introducing purchasable products into The Burning Crusade that never existed in the original version. Blizzard knew this was going to be contentious, after all, they went out of their way to make sure Classic was authentica as they could manage. In a game with hundreds of exotic mounts this seems trivial, but in a game that only has a limited scala of mounts, that one extra premium mount, with a higher poly count and texture quality than the rest of the assets in the game sticks out like a sore thumb.

Blizzard was testing the waters, taunting the players just to see if the players were able to swallow it. Their bluff got called and now management is lashing back at all this insolence through ham fisted censorship.

Remove the sell-run business as far as possible , wether for gold or cash. And that’s that. I‘ve been playing this game since the Vanilla Beta days and things got worse everytime „the loosend the reigns“. Another factor was probably those group finder tools and the anonymity that came with them. Yes, in the short run it fills their pockets, but in the long run they‘ll lose a lot of long term subscribers. When the toxic crowd moves on to their next FOTM-Game… at a certain point there is Nobody left. Bobby Kotick and the Gang think in quarters, in a Game designed for decades…

I would replace it with 'hug'. Just give all the players with store mounts a nice good hug, because clearly they need one.

Obviously yes. Just because you, me, or others can just ignore it doesn't mean others aren't effected by it. It's an easy fix.

Not really the case but continue to defend trash human behaviour.

Harder to do than removing the ability to target an emote.

Imagine not understanding everyone is different and that different things effect us all differently I'm sure something that upsets you could be considered weak by other people.

/spit is also being done to a character and not the player. It also does not kill the character. Doesn't even slow the character down.

The "toxic" behavior in the game typically seems to revolve around elitism and the "have vs the have nots". Has nothing to do with emotes or /<whatevr>. People may also need to recognize when they are not able to separate themselves from their character in game and learn when to step away and take a breather.

Seems to me if they want to reduce toxic behavior they would need to remove players ability (in game and on other sites) from viewing other players in any way. Can't look at gear. Remove gear score. Can't look at talents. Block any and all outside sites and sources from accessing game data. Etc. Gamers would also need to revert to a mindset where a 2 hour dungeon run (exaggerated example) is not such a big deal and not expect everyone who plays the game to spend weeks studying before playing.

Devil is always in the details and I'm likely not hitting the nail right on the head here. I just think they have the wrong idea about how to mitigate the issue at hand.
