(Possible) Legendary Staff - Preview
A few forum threads appeared on the forums (nice work on Datamining the legendary staff!), people asked me tons of questions, it's time to try to do a preview of the legendary staff!

Disclaimer
This is not an official preview, the whole post could just be speculation going wrong. There is definitely a lot of data available and it's definitely enough to assume that this is indeed the legendary staff but unless you hear it from a blue poster, anything I post could be a giant lie.

In any case, nothing is official, nothing is final, this is just data from a test server.


Weapon Model
The staff has 3 models and we can assume that it will be upgraded through multiple quests/events like Shadowmourne. The upgraded is much more visible than with Shadowmourne and it looks like you will even add parts to your staff at some point.

The staff seems to have a lot of icon, hints of various stages of construction/quest.

Quests
A couple of quests added in the patch seems to be related to the staff. Most importantly, it seems that the questline is heavily tied to the Keepers of Time.




A Legendary Engagement / A Legendary Engagement
Objective - Speak to Anachronos in the Caverns of Time.
Description - I expected that I would find you here, . But then, we of the bronze flight have somewhat of an advantage when it comes to such things.

*Coridormi smiles.*

For reasons unknown to me, my master seeks audience with you. I would counsel you not to take this invitation lightly, . Anachronos seldom has cause to interact with mortals. Wisdom would dictate that you seek him out in the Caverns of Time at once.

Speak to me when you are ready and I shall personally deliver you.


A Wrinkle in Time
Objective - Speak to Anachronos in the Caverns of Time to witness the future of Azeroth.
Description - Listen carefully, , for though we are only beginning, time already grows short and the consequences of our failure are unfathomable. An event in the recent past has been obscured from my vision by the most powerful of magics. Its impact, however, has not.

If action is not taken to change the course of this timeline's future, the outcome is clear. Brace yourself, mortal, and behold the future of Azeroth.


All-Seeing Eye
Objective - Collect 25 Living Embers from Firelands and 3 Sands of Time.
Description - I perceive the questions that burn within your mind and I must confess that I share in your uncertainty... a rare position for one such as I, and a most unsettling one. As I scour time to find traces of this obscured event, you must aid me in the creation of an Eye, both to test your worthiness, and to provide an essential tool in the unraveling of this mystery.

Venture into the Plane of Fire, , and gather Living Embers. Bring them to me with Sands of Time and I will create the Eye.


On a Wing and a Prayer
Objective - Bring the Timeless Eye to Coldarra.
Description - Time well spent, mortal.

While you were struggling in the Plane of Fire, my watchers and I were able to determine where and, most importantly, when our vision was obscured. We have discovered that the shroud was placed over the Nexus, far to the north in the realm of the blue dragonflight.

I have attuned the Timeless Eye to show you the occurrences that remain hidden to us here. Go at once to Coldarra and search out a place suitable for the Eye's activation.

Travel well, friend.

    ...disappointing... since wotlk legendaries just.. well.. don't look like legendaries anymore. To me that staff looks like any other staff... nothing really special. The first and second versions of the staff look quite nice but the third version just ruins it.

    I really hope that the Embers are not purchasable, that really ruined Shadowmourne imo.

    SHame, I really hoped for a legendary polerarm for my hunter. Would be cool to have a one class only legendary for once

    Hopefully Blizz will find a way to reward the guild for helping to craft the legendary via achievement or title, because with Frostmorne I was fairly disappointed to hear that players were getting rewarded for crafting a legendary weapon...my thought was "Isn't the Legendary itself the reward?" and yes I know the Items were tradable but still....

    If it had anything to do with the history of War of the Ancients at risk of being altered, the shroud would've been over part of the Caverns of Time itself, not over the Nexus in Coldarra, where the next quest in the breadcrumb chain leads the player. Signs point stronger to this having to do with Malygos' demise as this is the most significant event in the "recent past" that occurred in the region of interest.

    you had one legendary, check "sunwell" and this probably will be only for caster-dps because if they make it viable for hunters then it will suit also feral druids, who knows?

    i am not impressed with any of the cata models in regards to weapons. make a staff, a staff - this thing looks like a mace or a staff for little people.

    I assume you mean next expansion, b/c healers were using Val'anyr throughout the entire WotLK.

    I would agree with this. While Shadowmorne took forever to collect the shards if your guild wasn't doing heroic modes, by the end of wrath, every halfway decent 25 man guild had 3-4 of these.

    If blizzard has any sort of sense, they will make sure to have a damaging spells proc that does not appeal to healers. They had their chance with Val'anyr, and don't need another legendary the very next expansion. Why can't all classes use it? Because it's a LEGENDARY. I do feel for feral druids and enhancement shammys, they've gotten the shaft for a while. Sadly I doubt that an agi weapon will be the other legendary, as both legendaries in BC were agi weapons. It'll probably be a tanking weapon.

    Something tells me 25 living embers will cost a lot. It's a legendary so I don't doubt that it would be exceedingly expensive, or require a your guild to give you all the embers received from raiding (plus still buy a handful to make it go faster)

    hmm again item I can't use :/. First swords which is only thing what shaman can't use then bow then healing mace then 2hand weapon which says dk, pala, war but no shammies. I would have done it to myself even tho 2 handed sucks.

    I probably will make this if I can wear it just because I can

    So apparently Malygos's death is the chain that is starting the destruction of the world? Sounds plausible. Deathwing was responsible for his insanity? To make you kill him off so he'd have less of a challenge.

    Hmmm... but why is it centered above the nexus/coldara... Dragon aspects met up there or something before going to help the night elfs?...
    If it was introducing War of The Ancients wouldn't Azshara be a more suitable place?
