Void Storage and Transmogrifier - Patch 4.3 Teasing?
A teaser on the official Warcraft Facebook Page hints at two new types of NPCs coming in a future patch, most likely Patch 4.3: the Transmogrifier and Void Storage NPCs.

"Transmogrifier" seems to hint at a way to change the appearance of something, the first thing coming to my mind is either a way to change the look of your items (it was experimented in the past with things such as Darkspear Overcloak but dropped later). I guess it could also be a way to change facial/body features on characters.

The "Void Storage" is probably ... well, another kind of storage? Or a high-tech magic trash can.

And yet I am fully able to run up to you disguised as a Pirate/Ninja/Skeleton. Wich wouldn't give you the slightest of hints of what gear I am wearing.

Or, they could...y'know...disable it in rated arenas/battlegrounds?

Bliz most probably posted that picture without having any clue what they want to do and are now looking in these forums for ideas.

My bet is they want to buff ret paladins and allow them to solo kill Deathwing in this http://www.wowwiki.com/Lawbringer_Armor /sarcasmoff

The most important thing here, would it let my rogue Dual-Wield some daggers transmogrified into looking like KANG THE DECAPITATOR?! Would it let my mage have a staff that looks like the agility staff that dropped in karazhan? the one with the tentacle thingies? MUST HAVE!

So I wonder if maybe the void storage guy is where you go to pick up expired auctions. Maybe now they will go to "The Void" rather than clog up your inventory.
Ive heard this before, and it makes sense actualy. I got contacted twice by gm cus i got hacked and they are always revering to ''The void'' where you lost your stuff..

    so..

Void storage -- cross-server item transfer, guaranteed. Possibly heirlooms only, to prevent messing up server economies.

This could be misdirection, using the 'leak' about the next expansion as inspiration. If not, and much of the speculation about modifying appearance and cross server storage/mail are accurate no wonder everybody is so excited...I just hope they don't end up 'premium' services.

I don't think that would work as daggers have different animations.
IF this is what we think it is it will be
    1 handers
    Daggers
    2 handers
    Polearms/staves

They share animations, if you could for instance change your balanced heartseeker into a reforged arcanite reaper you'd be stabbing with a 2handed axe wich, while amusing, wouldn't make any sense.

you're all going to be disappointed LOL

but ive been praying for more bank space since bc, adding bags with 4 extra slots just doesnt cut it for a druid who does it all

If it's like any other game with item remodeling, they have to be of the same type to work. Dagger to dagger, 1-handed sword to 1-handed sword, etc.

I think a lot of people are hyping this up a lot more than they need to. Yes, it is likely a look at new features. It is possible that the Transmogrifier is a 'Appearance Tab' type option. (No, Blizz will not remove the PvP noticability out. If it IS an 'Appearance Tab', it will be disabled in BGs and Arena's.) However, it is more likely that it will function as an in-game facial modifier, so you're not stuck with the same face for years and years. Much like the Barber-shop. No, it is not going to be Account-wide storage/transfers. Blizz has said that they are a long way off from accomplishing this. Blizzard also recently said they've been looking into upgrading the amount of bank storage space. Most likely, the Void Storage is just that-a new, larger bank. POSSIBLY a Server-wide bank, but not Account-wide.

I think transmorgrifier is just going to be an option to change COLORS of gear. We already seen different color tier sets consistently datamined and not get used. Maybe that's what we will be picking from? Personally as much as it would be cool to change gear to previous tiers or weapons, it seems like it would do worse than good. Seeing everyone in the same Tier with different colors is FAR better than every body wearing Thunderfury and Warglaives and other old shit. I think that Blizzard does not want to devalue the progression of artwork of gear but also wants you to feel more unique. To me, changing colors of gear is where it would satisfy both causes.

Well, in WoW all 1 handers share animations wit the exception of daggers and all 2 handers share the animations with the exception of staves/polearms(Wich share animations)

So I could very well be 1 hander - 1 hander etc..

Well, what if you could only use gear you already own?
So if you have Thunderfury, then go wild! Don't have it? Enjoy staring at Molten Core for the next few years LOL

I speculate that the void storage is a form of battle.net bank, where you can put the item in on one character and retrieve it from any character on your battle.net account. As for the Transmogrifier, my guess is a variation on the "appearance tab" idea where we put the stat item in, then an item from our inventory, and it transmogrifies the stat item to have the look of the other item. Disabled in PvP, of course.
