Character Level Boost to 90 priced at $60
The US servers went back online after the maintenance and for a few minutes people could access the interface to upgrade their character. Unless announced otherwise by Blizzard, upgrading your character to level 90 will cost you $60 on live servers.

I believe there was a guy on Twitch.tv called Rlenk or something. He leveled a character to level 90 in less than 90 hours. No heirlooms, no guild, no flying mounts, and no XP potions. Just classic leveling. And that was without any XP buffs. At all. The average joe can level a character to level 90 in about a week, depending how much time he spends playing WoW. Meanwhile, I can spend $60 on a week of food and dozens of games on Steam. And as for my "complaining"... I still wouldn't care if the instant level 90 would cost $10 or $150, it doesn't fucking matter. My point still stands.

But it's sad that you can just pay to skip a lot of the content nowadays. Just because people don't have time for it and so forth. Can't wait for gear and buyable achievements to arrive, because people don't have time to raid. Hmmm... Buyable gear, and achievements. Would that affect your gameplay? Would it? Answer me this.

If you don't have time to do something, you don't have the time for it. Too bad. It's just a pity you can just buy your way into it now.

Blizzard already has taken the first step into the P2W world and it'll only get worse from now on. But don't worry, you casuals will get the game you deserve.
90 Hours? You can a damn lot done in 90 hours man holy crap. That you're talking about it like it's nothing tells me how much you play this game and why you're upset. Lets say I raid 2 nights a week for 3 hours, then spend another 4 hours during the week doing whatever. That's over 2 months saved. Double that to 20 hours a week playing wow and your still saving a month. This game starts max level. There's is nothing fun or skilful about getting to 90, you're just wasting a boat load of time.

Question is: is it cheaper than a China boost? That would instantly make it a good thing.
Far less money to be made by boosters, hopefully a lot will disappear.

how much to buy heroic garrosh loot?

    You think $60 is expensive?

Wait till they "convert" that into euros - and it's 60 euros for the exact same service provided to the US players >.<

That being said I'll be unlikely to purchase it ever anyway.

$60 ... one of the better jokes I heared in a while, sort of.

ok look people whinging about the price it's fair and not too cheap so every douche nozzle has a bunch of 90's do you really want some idiot running around with a bunch of 90's not knowing what he's doing stuffing up your raids and dungeons? no i don't think so compared to the öther method"of getting a lvl 90 i saw a post recently the price for a rushed lvl 90 through "power leveling" which was at 197 dollars US i mean i would rather pay 60 dollars and get my 90 instantly remember that kiddies its instant with proffesions and gear yes the gear is not major epics but its good enough to get you going i mean would you want to wait for your friend you invited to play WoD to lvl to 90 or would you want to run with your mate instantly and help them get the hang of things at your lvl and pace i think people need to just relax and take it with a grain of salt seriously

Why are you people whining about it being too expensive? It's not a bad thing that everyone and their dog can't get a lvl 90 easily.
  1. PureGenius's Avatar
Well seeing as it's 9.99GBP for battle chest, 16.99GBP for MoP and what 40?GBP for new xpac (WoD) that makes 69GBP.
Factor in a char transfer for 15GBP which is 84 GBP.

The paid boost needs to be less than that otherwise people will still abuse the new account - free 90 transfer mechanic.

I'm absolutely shocked how many people are OK with the idea of paying to skip content in the game, but aren't OK that it's expensive. This community is a completely different one then when I joined the game in 2005.

I don't care if this costed $1, $1 million dollars, or was free. You should never - ever - be able to skip content in an RPG game, let alone for money. This point blank should not even be available.

This admits multiple things to an MMO player such as myself. 1) Game is dying 2) leveling isnt fun and they dont have any intent on fixing it 3) the game is completely raid centric now (PvP lololol) 4)they know they're going to lose more subs and are trying to make up for lost ground 5) most importantly, they've run out of ideas on how to fix the game and are praying on addicts to keep them afloat

What makes this any different from an MMO F2P like LOTRO? They have microtransactions for everything short of gear now in the game. Subs, pets, mounts, leveling boosts, RaF feature, character transfers, guild transfers, faction changes, expansions, gender changes, name changes, vanity gear... literally the only thing missing now is gear. Also, I should add you can't buy gear in LOTRO either.

My logical conclusion says WoW is going F2P in the very near future. They have all the systems in place to seamlessly transition at this point. I know the devs said they never would, but they also said that leveling is an important part of the WoW experience... evidently not.

This is the nail in the coffin for me never returning. I cannot and willnot play a game where you remove half of what it is for a fee. Blizzard has become a shadow of its former self. Legacy of the Void will be the last Blizzard game I buy before they become a complete corporate clone of EA. Further proof that things can become so big that they destroy themselves.

And for you flaming WoW fanboys who are sure hate on me/TESO go for it - you're the kind of people I don't want in that game anyway. I'd prefer you stay in WoW and pay for your subscription and your paygates at the same time. Please don't come ruin my MMO - stay in yours.
    Indeed, it sucks, man.

People pay sub for a game, and now they pay money to not play the game they pay for.

As for Blizzard, do they care? obviously not.

Selling cosmetic gear, pets and mounts, and now selling boost and power leveling. What won't they sell for real money at this stage?

Blizzard official gold selling incoming! soon!
  1. mmoc664e732ce0's Avatar
Dont understand why fanboys laugh at kids because they cant roll fotms. Fotms are actually rerolled by fanboys. They dont care about the prices, they are willing to put all the shit money they earn on games.

If they put a mount in the store for 250 bucks then the fanboys would argue with something like "oh now only pros can get that mount the kids cant get one yay win!" Whenever i see a fanboy i think its either a girl gamer or a boy gamer stuck in friendzone.

The result is more girls playing competive games (these kind of games are for men because of their competive natures) and men being on friendzone (because they think that they are equal to girls and stort devolving).

So basically nowadays younger men and women are trying to be equal to eachother, which is ofc against the nature and its showing what kind of effect it has on game.

And for example gaming companies are trying to go their ways. "OH MY GOD BIG UPDATE TO YOUR GAME!" A normal human being: "Cool, update in my old game?" "YEAH WE ADDED A STORE SO PEOPLE CAN BUY CARPAINTS THAT YOU WASTED 50 DAYS FOR!" A normal human being: "I QUIT!" And ofc every girly friendzone boy and girl gamer: "Dont like it? Dont buy it. I like it. Stop whining."

Man the horror. One day you might be able to buy to skip classes and get a grade..

If you're going to completely sell out any and all integrity of your game, why not do it all out and make them 15 bucks a piece?

This. This needs to be reiterated a thousand times. I can't agree more with what you said and you summed it up perfectly. Chapeau bas!

    Roughly 200 bucks atm.

Really depends on your server though, for how much the heroic gear sells at the black market AH and how much gold you make by selling boe stuff from the blizzard store ofc. The "old way" of trading TCG mounts might be more cost effective.

Yeah biggest bullshit ever is how they just fuck EU customers over, not just Blizzard its like that for everything.
Then i see US dude coming to cry about prices of something :/

So much QQ, i love bathing in tears.

You like levelling? Do not buy a boost.
Does boost imbalance the game? No, a bad player will still be a bad player.
Does boost mean skipping content? Not necessarily, there's tons of content i skipped while levelling and power-zerged at higher levels for the sake of lore and completion.
Does it cost too much? Better, less bad player inflating end game ranks.

All other arguments are somehow invalid. Blizzard is a company. Companies aim is to make money. They have a big player base? yes. Are players eager to pay for cosmetic / extra / non game breaking stuff? Yes. I see nothing wrong there.

Sorry to disappoint you but WoW will stay healthy for another 4-5 years at least.

PS: Played TESO beta. it's a 2008 game, born dead. It will go F2P in under 2 years

More than I'd be willing to pay, if it were something that I were likely to buy. I prefer to level up alts manually anyway, and I have enough heirlooms to make it trivial. I mean, the price is almost equivalent to four months' subscription. I can't remember the last time I tried, but even at a casual pace I was easily able to do it inbetween a week and a fortnight, and that's with non-upgraded heirlooms.

I really don`t see the problem. Blizz compares number of new sub`s to existing sub`s. They see that existing subs far outnumber the new ones, and adds an option for the majority of the players to enjoy endgame on more classes - for a fee. If you don`t like it - don`t buy it. If you feel like levelling a char for the 10`th time is what makes or breaks the game, then maybe its time to find something else to do.

Blizz ofc knows that there will be loads of alternatives to wow this summer. ESO, Wildstar etc - and they need to make end content more available for all levels of players. Me myself, I kinda enjoy levelling - with no goal of reaching 90. But I respect that others do not, and appreciate that Blizzard actually delivers something that people want. If nobody wanted it - it would never be released at all.
