Update (8:00 PM EST): According to the official post, all US and EU emails have gone out.
Update: Added official information. EU emails are starting to go out. There are a few reports of players getting one with small lapses in their subscription.

Gift to Veteran Players: Orc Wolf Rider Mini-Statue
The first people have started receiving their veteran gifts! The statue is an orc riding a wolf; it is a miniature version of the one located outside the Blizzard HQ. Credit to @thebl4ckd0g for the picture of the statue itself and Smitti for the picture of the inscription on the base.

Our players in Europe will receive a similar email, and their shipments are expected to begin in the next few weeks.

If you're an NA region player (US, Canada, Oceania, Latin America) the receipt of an email is confirmation that you met the criteria to receive an Anniversary celebration gift. Emails have not yet begun to be sent out to our European players, but we'll start sending them soon. Shipment of the gift to EU players will begin in the next few weeks.

Criteria required to receive the gift:
  • Started playing WoW within 60 days of the game launch in your region
  • A continuous subscription for all 10 years, from launch to the Anniversary

We're thankful for everyone that chooses to spend time in Azeroth with us, and hope that this small token of appreciation expresses our gratitude to those few of you that have achieved the incredible milestone of playing World of Warcraft for all these 10 years.

[Update] All notification emails have been sent to NA and EU region recipients.

These gifts have been sent to the physical address associated with eligible Battle.net accounts. To be eligible for this gift, a player must have created a World of Warcraft account within 60 days of the game launching in the NA or EU regions, and maintained their subscription or game time for all ten years.

Eligible players in the North American region, along with eligible Oceanic players, have been sent tracking information for the gift. Eligible players in Europe will receive tracking information when their gift ships later this month. If the shipping address on that email is incorrect, you will need to contact us with your updated information.

The reason the statue is what it is, is as Xisa said above this post both statues are a copy of the main statue out front of Blizz HQ.. And well it is a thank you from Blizz for sticking it out with them for all this time..

My account has been installed and active since the night vanilla launched. I don't believe Blizzard has my mailing address. Wonder if they're going to mail my statue to American Express...

Most of these people don't have what we would consider real problems, and they have not yet faced the adversity that would make them view things like this in a different light. Almost everyone at some point will have a tribulation or obstacle to overcome in their life, one that may give them a better sense of perspective.

Wow, it's really nice. Congratulations to all the veterans!

Unfortunately it would probably also take a few smacks around the head to knock some sense into them..

I'm hoping for a statue, I've had a continous subscription since March 2005 (EU). My wife misses out by 5days :-( Still one in the house would be nice.

However the comments like "I've played for 9 years and I miss out" are a little frustrating. It's not like you've got nothing out of this for 9years. I'm sure you've made a few friends, spoken to poeple from all over the world, maybe even been involved in guild get-togethers? There had to be a cutoff somewhere, if it was 90 days, someone somewhere would still miss out.
As for the money comments, I'd like to provide a quick break down; I pay for my two accounts, my wife's account and my father-in-laws account (Since Sept '05)... so I'm going to look at my main (with a little extra)

    Subscription Fees: ~£860
    Game Costs: 3x £30
    Collectors Editions: 3x £60
Remote App: ~£40 (Remember that one?)
Second Account: £280 (Game + Fees) Better job = More money, so dual boxed.
    Pets & Mounts: £100
Total: £1550 $2400 Probably close to £3k with wife & FiL included ($4500)

My wife doesn't care she missed out by 5days, my FiL doesn't care he missed out, and frankly I don't mind if I don't get one, disappointed yes, but not in the way some people are crying about it. I've had 10years of fun, I meet and played with people from all walks of life, of all ages, from lots of different countires. I had the honor to be playing a constantly evolving game with my family, that's cost me approx £25 per month. I know people that P155 double that against a wall every weekend. A little statue isn't the be all and end all of my Warcraft experience, and with any luck I'll still be here (playing the game) in the next 10years.

So have the first ones turned up on e-bay yet?, I want to be entertained by those who make profit over the amount of jealous non veterans.

    A Horde statue? Bleh.

The money and sanity I saved during the two times I canceled my subscription were definitely worth more than this gift.

Grats to people who got it that actually want it though!

On the Desktop App, click the Battle.net button and then click Account Management.
On the Account Management page click settings, then click Contact & Shipping Address.
That's where the statue, if you're eligable, will be delivered.

So much crying going on here, People moaning they "lost out on it" fuck off , you haven't lost out on anything,
To the people complaining "I've been a sub for 9 years, why don't I get one?!"- Well idiot, if blizzard gave in and gave it to the 9 year subs, the 8 year subs will moan, then before you know it every player will have one and it won't be shit anyway.
    STOP QQ'ing

so i aucutally contacted a gm, via the out of game support page, on battle.net via the live chat, and i basically asked if my account was eligible and if it was if they knew what was the deal with this whole thing. I also updated my address, so i was making sure if it didn't get sent out yet (if i was eligible even) that it was ok.

The gm was very nice, and we chatted for like 20 minutes, not just about this stuff, but about some suggestions i had, about support and general stuff at blizzard (i told him i loved WOD)

But basically he says that in the office its driving them all nuts because they have no definitive answer on this thing, as in who gets what, the criteria or anything and that its the million dollar question around support and the other offices and people he has talked to internally, no one seems to know anything and they weren't able to give me a definite answer, although he pulled up my account and said that i had been playing for a very long time, and congratulated me on being so loyal and so on, we chatted about how far the game has come since then

Overall it was cool experience, aucutally talking to a gm who was as passionate about wow as i am, we talked about how grindy alts are atm in the garrison, about ideas have submitted to make it alt-friendly, and i suggested that the tokens for followers be boa, or that there was a static place (vendor, mission etc) to get more each day, other than dwarven/salvage, because on alts if you want to get your followers ilvl up, it takes forrrever, nickel and dime 3 points at a time..ugh...on my main has most at 630/645+ and have tons of tokens like the 615 weapon ones, going to waste, where my hunter could use those a lot

Maybe make a daily mission, that has a chest that has say 5-10 of them random ones, that would speed up alts immensely, because lets be honest, the best missions aren't till your followers are 630+, and if the only source each day is 1-2 from missions, and maybe 2-3 from salvage (if you lucky) then yeah doing even 5 followers to 645 for highmaul mission, especially if your alt just hit 100 like this week, you wont be done by next patch, there needs to be some speeding up of progress here

Or hell just make the tokens give more than 3/6/9..double that, i'd be ok with getting 5 a day if they gave 10/12/15 ilvls the 3/6/9 is to low, or allow us to trade in the kinda worthless apexis crystals for more, or resources...alts getting 10 tokens a day, would be a tremendous help, getting them up to par, mission/gear wise. I hate logging in each day on my hunter and needing a few key followers to 630+, doing my salvage and missions, and gaining +3 weapon and +6 armor on ONE follower..and that being it for the day...progression is a slow crawl

the gm took down my feedback, agreed that something needs to be done, and that i am not alone in this request, and encouraged me to spread the word, start threads, the more people the better

10/10 gm service today, i may not got my answer, but at least i know stuff is working internally and satisfaction of playing this game 10 years...priceless

I like how people are responding that they received the statue, then proceed to not give information as to their sub history, unsub durations, etc to get a little more info as to how this promotion is being handled. Closed beta player, and I unsubbed for 2 months this past June. Will see if I get one today. Darn UPS delivers late in my neighborhood.

Looks great, but I wonder how much will it cost if someone decided to sell it. I guess it's going to be pricey as it's a very rare item.

It seems it's possible to receive the gift without having received notice. You can actually check the UPS website searching for your name and zip (under Track by Reference). This won't tell you if you're supposed to receive one, but it does seem to show something shipping from CA and headed my way, and I received no e-mail. The site is: http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_US. Good luck!
