Patch 8.3 - Visions of N'Zoth Horde Allied Race - Vulpera
Vulpera are cunning nomadic scavengers capable of turning what they find into opportunities to thrive. Clever and resourceful, the vulpera of Vol’dun have survived amidst the sands for generations. Eager to join the ranks of the Horde, their caravans have departed from the dunes in search of adventure. The serpentine sethrak have taken to subjugating anyone they can as slaves, and the vulpera are an easy target for their machinations. If you’ve taken steps to liberate the vulpera from these overseers, they’ll join the Horde on the battlefield.

Unlocking the Vulpera
To unlock the ability to make a Vulpera, the following achievements must be completed on one character on your account. Once done, you can make a Vulpera on any server.

Classes
The Vulpera Allied Race can be any of these classes:

  • Death Knight (with pre-purchase of Shadowlands)
  • Warrior
  • Hunter
  • Rogue
  • Priest
  • Shaman
  • Mage
  • Warlock
  • Monk

Racials
The Vulpera racial abilities are as follows:

  • Bag of Tricks - Pull your chosen trick from the bag and use it on target enemy or ally. Enemies take [ Greater of {180% of Spell Power} or {180% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] damage, while allies are healed for [ Greater of {270% of Spell Power} or {270% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ].
  • Rummage Your Bag - Change your chosen tricks. Now where did you put that? 5 sec cast. 5 min cooldown
  • Make Camp - Make a camp at this location. Can only be used outdoors. 5 sec cast. 10 minute cooldown.
  • Return to Camp - Return to your camp. 10 sec cast. 1 hour cooldown
  • Fire Resistance - Reduces fire damage taken by 1%
  • Nose For Trouble - When you first take damage from an enemy, reduce that damage by 5% of your maximum health.
  • Alpaca Saddlebags - Increases the size of your backpack by 8 slots.

When you cast Rummage Your Bag, a small sack will appear in front of you and allow you to customize your Bag of Tricks spell. Based on the flavor text provided upon clicking it, it is clear that this racial will have options to discover to customize the spell further in a manner similar to how the Dark Iron Dwarf Mole Machine racial was able to discover more locations to travel.

Upon creating a Vulpera, they have two different options for Rummage Your Bag to choose from:

  • Corrosive Vial - Splash your enemy with corrosive fluid, dealing [ Greater of {180% of Spell Power} or {180% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] Nature damage. A good reason not to drop your bag!
  • Healing Vial - Heals a friend for [ Greater of {270% of Spell Power} or {270% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] Nature. Share the wealth!

Mounts
The Vulpera racial mount is the Caravan Hyena. It is usable by all Horde races upon completion of Allied Races: Vulpera.

Dude.. Get this THROUGH YOUR HEAD.. The Team that did Tier Sets is NOT THE SAME TEAM DOING ALLIED RACES.

And for wow in particular, tell me why we can't have new tier set armor but 9 new reskinned model "races" ?
You're kidding right? You want to know why they would put more time into offering base character customization options that encourage people to make alts and potentially even try the game because now there is a player race that appeals to them rather than put resources into some bullshit tier armor that most players wont get, wont use, and likely transmog into something else?

New races offer FAR more value to players and blizzard's subscription rates than any stupid tier set.

Allied races all use the basic model and skeleton of existing races, so what would these guys use? Gnome if alliance or goblin if horde? They seem to stand more like a goblin, so I'd assume they're horde.

Oh yes lol. Side note it was a good game

These will be a suspected BIG Blizz-con announcement that will not get the reaction they hope for. I think by this point everyone expects them at some point. Which faction and when is really the only missing piece of the puzzle but given how much work is already done I would say no later then 8.2.

This goblin skeleton based reskin race will be for both factions.

It could be Nagas and Ogres but those need actual work... (yep, nagas can ride mounts because the naga form is only in combat like worgen human form otherwise they are elven.)

They are using the Goblin skeleton. All that could mean is it gives them a way to put that skeleton model in the Alliance. Or have two races using the same model on the same faction. Anything can happen.

That is exactly what i am saying. Less dev time, more money. Thank you for proving my points.

The sad part is that players value more cosmetic over actual gameplay. But i know i'm too old for this shit ..

You're right. I forgot Nightborne use night elf model and are horde.

I suspect the FAT Kul'Tiran humans will be the model the Horde Ogres are scaled from. So yes I see Ogres in the near future after release of BfA as a playable Horde race.

Almost as bad as "I don't like this, so nobody should have it!" Cliches are cliches for a reason.

Let's dispell some myths and logical fallacies.

    1. Vulpera don't fit into the lore

Says who? A random nobody on a forum? They'll have lore and the Horde will encounter them in BfA, same as the Nightborne.

    2. They'll attract Furries!!
Ok, and? This game always did. Furries are just people whom enjoy anthropomorphic animals.

    3. They'll attract sexual deviants!!!!!!!!1111
Ok... so you're seeing something sexual in the Vulpera, but am concerned they'll attract sexual attention whilst there's races like Draenei, Blood Elves, Night Elves, Nightborne, Void Elves and humans in the game? Sorry, but the "Furry" races tend to be pretty damned absent from ERP hotspots, Draenei being the exception since most people are seemingly unaware that they fulfill the Furry qualities. There are far more non-Furries doing sexual things with WoW races, where's your concern about those?

    4. They're too cute!!!!111
Um, they're not overly cute nor sexualized, you sure you're not exposing your personal feelings here?

    5. They don't fit into the Warcraft universe!!!!
Again, says you, a random nobody with an opinion.
The developers and writers of the game decide such things, and they've added anthropomorphic pigs, monkeys, hyenas, rats, cows, goats, fish, pandas, bears, wolverines, walrus, Bison, Owls, Cats, snakes... So sorry, but if you're concerned with playing a game that's not "Furry fuel", then you're playing the wrong fucking game.
Very well written! A very good statment!

Prepare to be disappointed, since so far only the Horde have any positive relations with them. In fact, the Alliance helps out the Sethrak, who are known enemies of the Vulpera.

Aren't the Zandalar trolls based on the night elf skeleton as well? I remember someone speculating that, but no idea if that was factual.

Honestly, I'm about to this point, myself. I'm all for people having their own opinions, and even sharing them, but when they turn into frothing-at-the-mouth idiots over a new race in a game with other such races, they lose all credibility.

This is where it seems to be going. Honestly, I think the sethrak are equally cool, and will totally make one should they become available as well.
