Shadowlands Week 2 - What to Do
Today is the first reset since the launch of Shadowlands. Here is a quick overview of what you can do this week to prepare for the start of Season 1 and the opening of Castle Nathria.

    • Note - If you already unlocked Layer 3 in a wing last week you only need to do a layer 3 run in each wing this week for the max amount of Soul Ash.
  • You can earn 100 extra Soul Ash from a new quest offered by Bolvar to collect 10 souls within Torghast.
  • Wings
    • Fractured Halls
    • Mort'regar

Craft Your First Legendary
  • You can have a total of 1520 Soul Ash between last week and this week, with a small amount of extra if you managed to get some from your Adventure Table Missions.
  • To craft a rank 1 Legendary, you need the following:
    • The legendary recipe from obtaining the memory drop. Refer to the powers section of your adventure guide to find out where they drop.
    • The Base crafted piece obtained on the auction house or through crafting.
    • Missives to determine the stats of the legendary. These are also bought on the auction house of crafted by scribes.

Renown Weekly Quests
  • If you completed the initial campaign to unlock your Covenant sanctum and completed the weekly renown quest "Replenish the Reservoir" then you reached Renown Rank 3 with your covenant last week.
  • This week, you can reach Renown Rank 6 by completing both the "Replenish the Reservoir" to collect 1000 anima and "Return Lost Souls" to rescue 5 lost souls from the Maw. This will get you to Rank 5 and unlock the next chapter of your Covenant Campaign, which in turn will give you another Renown rank when you complete it.

Covenant Campaign Chapter 3
  • Upon reaching Renown rank 5 you will be able to continue the next chapter of your Covenant Campaign.
  • Completing this chapter will give you a renown rank and a cosmetic reward.
  • You will also unlock your 2nd soulbind by completing this chapter.

Oribos Weekly Quests
  • Be sure to pick up your two dungeon weekly quests for anima as well as the PvP weekly.
    • Dungeons
      • Sanguine Halls
      • Plaguefall
    • PvP
      • 1500 Honor in Epic Battlegrounds

Mythic Dungeon World Tour
  • With reset, all mythic dungeons can be completed again this week for a chance at 184 item level gear!

This is just the nature of the game and the (subscription based) MMORPG genre. It's a core element of such games to keep you busy over weeks and months to keep paying. Everything needs to take longer and needs to be repetitive in a way. In such games you long time "work" on your character. But if that is not your cup of tea (anymore), mine isn't as well. Just look around there are other kinds of games that provide this "I just want to hop in and have some fun" feeling you want. WoW is way beyond its pinnacle already, it became a game left for the people who are still truly into it. It's fine to move on, i did as well. I am still around on MMO-Champ because i am still kinda interested in the direction the game takes and how well it fares in general, but i am just out of playing it.

at least you know why people rushed so much to get 3-4 alts on week one

now you will be permanently behind and most likely denied joinging good pugs because of it.
You're jumping the gun quite a bit. Just because the catch up mechanics aren't in for renown/souls/anima/dust doesn't mean there aren't going to be any.

And I don't get how some of you couldn't get the anima. 250 from the pvp weekly, 175 from each dungeon weekly, first dungeon and heroic of the day are 35 each, most quests are 2-4 of the 35 items (I haven't seen a single one not give at least 2). I'm getting that quest done in a day or two. Anima is easy to get, but hard to farm, and i like it.

Also, what a contradiction, some saying there's nothing to do. Now a bunch of people saying there's too much they have to do.

I have gotten about 250 in the first week. I don't feel like doing world quests for 35 Anima/each. 35 Anima should be a bonus reward together with some gear parts, not the reward itself!

It's turning into a fucking Korean grind game.
This is why I prefer SWTOR.
Not a single daily gives less than 70 anima. And the longer ones give 140. This is the most casual friendly weekly grind so far.

You should've gotten enough anima just by doing your daily covenant quests and the weeklies.

For some people it's better to wait until raids are out to get the memories they prefer for their legendary. Like I plan on waiting for Sun kings blessing for my mage to craft anything.

You get more than 100 anima per average anima-daily. If you can't afford to do 10 daily quests that take 5 minutes a week, that's completely on you. xD

Are you me? I'm unsubbed since 1.5 years and yet I keep reading MMOChampion and /r/wow on Reddit. Nostalgia, feelings, etc. I was very intrigued by Shadowlands but I am well aware that 2-3 weeks into it I would feel like the famous hamster in the famous wheel, once again. While it's true that WoW has no real competitors, my free time isn't infinite and I want to use it when I want, not when Blizzard wants.

On a side note, if there was some "pay as you play" plan I would consider it. Having 30 prepaid days is a waste, when you have a real life, kids, a job, etc.

If you're extremely inactive and/or going out of your way to not get 1000 anima in a week, since you get it from basically anything, the only other way to get renown ranks is getting your weekly souls from the Maw. Only doing that is slower, but eventually you'll get there.

If you don't even want to do that, then I'm sorry but you're not getting any rewards from just logging in each day.

I think for people like you, it's best to unsub and resub every other (or two?) month, that should give you plenty of content that's unlocked. And here's the good thing about Shadowlands; almost nothing that you can unlock ties into your character's power. The few things that do, like the Legendary item, are very easy to make and somewhat catch-up with.

Think of it as the artifact weapon or heart of Azeroth of SL. It is a single strong item you get really early in the xpac but needs to be upgraded over the coming weeks.

You will have to ugprade your legendary's item level so I wouldn't worry too much about "Creating" the legendary. It will only be item level 190 at rank 1. That is just step 1.

You do realise some people want more to do than 2hr worth right?

You have the option of not doing it if you choose to play so little. No need to wish for others to suffer just for you

News flash pvp always required gear. Unless you found getting 2 shot fun

no need to be aggressive, ffs. where in my post I stated i want others to suffer, cut the content? please show it. I just said, it is too much for me.
All these years I have always gotten aotc within the first month of a raid release, +15 on all dungeons, and 3-5 bosses down on mythic. I am not asking for cutting content. I am accepting the fact that I cannot keep up with this all as an adult. I am a little bit sad but sure, I do not have time. This game means a lot to me but this is the reality for me. I cannot play that much.

I am just saying again, too much stuff for me. I really really cannot be arsed to do all those anima world quess *I have hardly ever done wqs*, horrendous maw walking from start to other side and with a 15min cd on that teleport thingy.

lmao ffs, cant say shit these days without getting any negative insults. Must be nice to talk bossing over people on internet showing your superiorty.

Seems insane to me to complain there's to much to do in a game you barely even play. Like come on. Think.

I am saying, my gaming habits did not change a single bit between bfa and sl. but I cannot keep up with this atm. I will try of course. but I wonder.I do not ask for a change, I do not ask for cut. I just say, so far, it seems too much for me. It will change over the course of time of course as I will slowly catch up but atm too much for me.

I wish there was a list for people to enjoy the game, instead a list that people use to justify other people as being morons or not.

30min to finish WQs in 4 zones?

You are saying, that with your average of 1,5 Hours/Day, which results in 10Hours/Week, you cannot handle 1H/Week for Torghast, and 1-2H/Week für 1000 Anima?

Because from my calculation that still leaves around 7Hours for other stuff. Oo.

Then dont do it. If you dont want/can collect 1000 Anima, (From which you get 350 for 2 Dungeons). Then dont do it, and stay 1-2 Weeks behind on your Covenant, and catch up with Extra Renown Drops from other Activities.

Again, dont do it if you dont want to. I dont see the problem if you are behind the others in a bit Reputation. You also get 2-3 Weekly Quests from Venari, which not even take alot of time each.

You would get maybe a better response if you would not Cry over literally nothing and think a bit.

If People can do their Weekly stuff in half a day, it should be Possible to do that in a week.

Furthermore, this is a list of stuff you can do, not a list you have to do. This is not a hard concept. If someone doesnt have the time to play at the cutting edge, there is no reason to think much about it. Its entirely a Persons problem if he feels "He has to much to do". Because, its not even remotely much to do.

All the various things available right now have almost no impact your characters power, apart from soul-ash for your legendary. You can get this soul-ash in an hour or less from Thorghast, that is if you're not lying about the level that you play at. Everything else is optional and can be done at your own speed.

If you played BFA, then you should realize that there is a whole lot less mandatory stuff needed to be done this expansion compared to it. The mandatory azerite level farming was more work, same with the essences, benthic gear and the corruption gear farming. So if you're still complaining after realizing that, it's because you WANT to do everything in combination with Mythic raiding, and not because you MUST do everything for Mythic raiding.
