Are you aware texas has no state income tax and sales tax isnt bad? Thats at least a 25% difference vs cali/new york/other liberal states. The cost of living is also much less.

You cant really bash texas without proving you dont know what your talking about. They are doing it right.

And yet they still manage to have a lower GDP per capita than the national average.

Yes, because you're the one that has been linking sources in this thread, not me.

By the end of his 2nd term, the country will be in debt somewhere between 40~50 trillion and unemployment will still be hovering around 10%. Dems will be lucky to see another presidency in 12~16 years after that.

But is an amendment not a drastic change to the current legal system? Ie, you could say that murder is legal, because if the majority of states decided to make an amendment saying so it would be legal.

Texas also has relatively high property taxes and a proliferation of toll roads. I pay ~$30/month in taxes to Texas through the Toll Roads. A little more than that, really.

I would hardly brag about having a balanced budget when they've had to take federal money, or resort to gimmicks, to do it.

They also inflated their estimates of rising property values to estimate higher revenue levels from those taxes so the budget would be "balanced".

The federal minimum wage vs state min wage is confusing. There is still a national min wage, i think its 5.15, i could be wrong.

In order for the debt to go up to $40 trillion by the end of Obama's second term, the deficit would need to go up to $6 trillion. That's an absolutely absurd statement to make.

Also, the unemployment rate is 7.9% right now. It won't be 10% in 2016 barring a new economic catastrophe.

$7.25, with some exceptions. http://www.dol.gov/whd/minimumwage.htm . States can go above that if they choose. I don't see how that matters, though. Even McDonalds or OfficeMax where I am pay more than that.

See this is confusing, there are states still paying under $6. Ill say "the min wage" is the lowest in the country, my personal interpretation.

Either way, the list belf posted shows texas at 7.25 while cali is 8. 7.25 in texas is a lot more than 8 in cali.
