I wonder how much a Big Mac, or cheese burger really costs per-person not on any living assistance program. What I mean, if you figure in government assisted employee's of a franchise that doesn't offer insurance, or full-time 1 to 1 cost.

I know, it's sad that our country doesn't offer things like parks, or sporting facilities, or other such places. I mean, the world was a drab sad world, free of entertainment until the internet was invented!

Yeah, I'm in a Maryland suburb of DC and my one bedroom (which is nothing extravagant) is $1650/month. Spending $1200/month isn't anything unusual in many decent sized cities.

How are they supposed to get to those places when apparently basic wages shouldn't include costs for a car?

Many if not most people do not have ready access to libraries.

Moreover, free internet should be a thing for every citizen.

Feet, bikes, and public transportation. Or did you forget that those all existed?

feet are free, but bikes require money to buy, and public transportation requires money to ride.

Really? So you aren't in fact arguing that people on public assistance should lead miserable lives more appropriate to a developing country than a first world, industrialised state?

Because ready access to the internet is a public good as it is a vast repository of information and communication. Plus it's practically a necessity in modern society.

I'd venture to say many if not most DO have access to a public library. In my area, i have two libraries within 3 miles from my house. Most if not ALL small towns have one, and cities are littered with them. Try again.

Who says they live within walking or riding distance?

Also, public transportation in this country is garbage and can be discounted.

"You're wrong because of my anecdote!"

I live in Ft. Worth. The nearest public library is NOT within walking distance, because crossing an interstate highway on foot is suicide.

Unlike your stupid argument, most if not ALL towns have a library. Seeing we have nifty things called public transportation, they aren't hard to access at all.

Again, public transportation in this country is by and large complete rubbish.
