What's true is that it's not George Lucas' Star Wars anymore. Given the prequel trilogy, thank God for that. He did a great job in establishing the franchise, but ultimately he overstayed his welcome in his own franchise. The Ewoks was an early sign.
I genuinely wonder what this guy is going to do after George Lucas eventually dies. Should they stop making Star Wars just because the original creator is gone?
    Cheerful lack of self-preservation

Of course it isn't what you said. It's what I said.

It is impossible to assault one's intellect. For one if you have an intellect you cannot be insulted.
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

So whats the early sign for Disney overstaying their welcome? Maz Kanata the older and quirkier yoda? BB-8 the tinier, cuter, sillier R2-D2? Or the Porgs?

Let’s not forget when Luke was walking he was making no marks on the ground if I remember. Where as everybody else was making salt marks. They showed that clearly and for a reason. They had a scene showing it on purpose with the solider saying it was salt. And then zooming in on Kylos feet while he was moving. It was clear from the moment he walked out he was not physical interacting with anything. But he was able to with Leia and the dice were physically interactive with Kyle. I think they honestly just didn’t think about it.
You must have missed all the Force projections Kylo and Rey were having with the help from Snoke. They were physical. Kylo even had some water from Rey

It doesn't matter if we didn't see it in previous movies, it really doesn't. Considerign the stuff I saw in The Clone Wars and Rebels (which are canon) it's all fine. Not to mention all the Old Republic stuff (that is not canon).

    K-2SO -》 TFA n TLJ

    I liked Saw too.
    Darth Vader kicked ass

Knowing "the end" isn't a factor to judge a movie! That's like saying every ww2 movie is crap cuz we know who wins n looses in the war.

X-wings have hyperdrives to... align the X wing toward a capital ship... and connect the hypermotor to the catapult chair and you have the perfect anti-capital ship wepon....

I realy like the movie but the whole Finn/Rose story did feel like a speed bump from the "real" story. But I understand why it was necessary, to be able to end with the child with the broom. I realy like that they answers some of the question like why Luke did hide and why Kylo did fall to the dark side. Love how Kylo preper to strike down his true enemy. But if we nitpick... why is the "violet hair amiral" not in uniform, and Rey backstory excludes previous training, hence maker her feat in tfa even more over the top....

The Force Awakens didn't exactly blow me away but it's a masterpiece compared to this garbage.

They have great characters and a great setting available to them. They didn't even have to come up with that themselves, it's just handed to them. And this is what they come up with. How do these people get hired?

Considering JJ did VII and is coming back for IX, I really wish he just did the full trilogy.

I was pleasantly happy with this movie. CGI Snoke bugged the heck out of me but that's a minor complaint. Cinematography was AMAZING. The Rey/Kylo back-and-forth was great. Coulda skipped out on the Finn/Rose stuff pretty much completely. More Phasma plz. Loved grumpy old Luke. 7/10 good movie, not amazing, not horrible.

2 and a half hours was a bit to extreme, you could have removed the parts with the black guy and the chinese and just focus on ray and solo

I know we're in post-2016 territory now, but take it easy with that whataboutism will you. We don't want to risk overloading the universe with too much of it, or it might implode.

I thought it was visually very appealing and a cool idea, but I immediately thought of the two? other giant vessels they let simply drift into firing range and blow up. If that could be so effective why not just ram them every time a ship is about to explode, or why haven't they ever done that in any other battle like starkiller base or the death star?

Hell why don't they just make literal ship battering rams, designed solely to do exactly this and with as much destruction as possible?

Otherwise I actually liked most of it. They didn't really explain snoke at all still but I don't understand all the hate the movie is getting myself.

grumy old Luke? thats reading between the lines a bit much. Mf was Emo Luke. Trash movie is trash, NOTHING happened plot wise with Rey and Kylo, good guys still good bad guys still bad no explanation about Rey or Snoke. This movies only saving grace was Rose, Carrie Fisher vastly underused and turned into a Mary Sue to boot.

I was kind of disappointed to see that Rey took the books. It would have resonated more if Yoda knowingly burned them up just to prove his point to Luke.

After thinking about this movie and seeing it two times i made my list of issues below.
And my final verdict of the movie is that this is the 2e worst Star Wars movie just above the phantom mannice.
I will explain my issues below now in the spoiler tag:

    1) The first order follows the rebels till they run out of fuel... why not send a few ships ahead and corner them?
This was the same as Prometheus where they keep running in the same direction like the falling ship.
    2) The comedy is out of place in rly bad situations they just stop and joke around like this is a crappy Marvel sequel.
    3) SJW PC culture everywhere in this movie from: "dont eat meat" to "all rich ppl are evil" toward "all woman are strong leaders" and we can keep going with this.
    4) Snoke is a joke, they show him as the all powerfull guy that can kill ppl with his force powers from far far away and can link ppl together and know what ppl think in there minds, then the writters where like yeah... we actually dont need him in the story so they get a emo kid kill him like he is nothing. (we still know nothing about snoke where he came from and what his history with Vader and Luke was in any way or form but ok it dont matter anymore he is dead)
    5) General leia gets sucked into space where everybody dies, but wait not leia she just force pulls herself back on the spaceship where they just open the door and let her in (no shield) and nobody gets sucked out into space (worst scene in any sci fi movie ever made)
    6) Luke Skywalker wants to kill Ben Solo because he saw abit of the darkside in him? Luke that beleaved he could bring Darth Vader back to the light... Rly Luke would do this...
    7) Yoda force ghost can control lightning in death, well if he could do that then he might just had killed Vader and Palpatine back in the day.
    8) Luke cant even bother to save the day himself on the battlefield and die like a badass, no he makes a projection of himself and hold the firstorder back and just dies far away in the galaxy because of....
    9) Why did Luke visite leia before walking outside the base and told her he would end Ben Solo when he only was planning to hold them back.
    10) The casino planet with Rose and Fin is not Star Wars that was a chapter from a Harry Potter movie.
    11) BB-8 kills masses of stormtroopers like the most badass robot ever made, so yeah rebels dont wait for support just make BB-8 unites and you win this war easy.
    12) Luke use a blue lightsaber after Rey took it and broke it after the Snoke scene? His lightsaber is green did these ppl not see episode 6?
    13) Yoda acting like the drunk character from episode 5 when he was just acting to see what motivations Luke had to become a Jedi.
Why would he now after he alrdy shown himself as Yoda the jedimaster as a crazy drunk when he was part of the Jedi council as a wise man.
    14) Rey falls in the pit on the Island and comes out then she put her fingers on the wall where she is on the other side with like a loop of herself, what was the point of this all..... pointless scene.
    15) Rey did 0 training with Luke other then feel the Force and suddenly she can move 1000 rocks at the end of the movie where Luke had problems with 2-3 rocks after days of training with Yoda.
    16) Rose blocks Finn from destroying the cannon, Finn moves full power forward Rose moves back then suddenly can intercept him from the side on what way.... did she had a faster speeder..
    17) Yoda force ghost was very bad, even back in the 80s movies they had the tech to make you see the background past the ghost forms this was just a puppet with a blue outline it was like Yoda was back alive instead of a ghost.
    18) Why show the X-wing from Luke in the water when you do nothing about it.
    19) Why waist time on Luke milking a alien cow and getting a fish.
    20) Phasma is a James Bond villian, she has both Rose and Finn on the ground with tons of stormtroopers but does she shoot them dead? nope they need to suffer pain and ofc get away because of this act.

Well i stop at this point but you see where i get my issues from.

It doesn´t really seem that bad if you went twice to the cinema to see the movie.
