I don't think so either. But just him running and getting in the news will tarnish the republican brand a bit more in Arizona. They'll hear his name as a potential senate candidate and think "we have our own Roy Moore".

The GOP really wants to elect Dem Senators huh?

I'd be shocked if this guy makes it through the primary. The GOP in Arizona would be incredibly stupid to put him up whoever the Dem candidate is.

I mean, hell, his age alone should be a disqualifier much less the MOUNTAIN of baggage this guy has.

Also - people said the same shit about Roy Moore. Hell, even Dumbass Donnie Dump didn't believe in him until he won the primary, and then the fukwit sellout that Dump is sold out and endorsed him anyways.
But anyone can run that's the beauty of it. Someone running doesn't mean that the party even wants them to run or likes them. Roy Moore was a weird exception, Arizona isn't Alabama and Bama didn't elect Moore. Arpaio's time has faded, he won't make it out of the primaries. I want to know who's coming back to say "We were wrong, Arizona and really most of America, isn't the big racist cesspool we keep making it out to be"

To admit we were wrong about him running for Senate. He is running. Now. Will you be admitting you were wrong?
I should have worded that better, I wasn't referring to him running, but that Arizona is going to show him huge support. Even in the article listed, The GOP has already said he's not their man. In fact, it's a woman they are backing

National Republicans have landed their top recruit for the seat: Rep. Martha McSally is set to holds events Friday in Tucson, Phoenix and Prescott where she'll make what's being billed as a "special announcement."

He might win the republican nomination, but that’s about it. He’s to much of a nut job to attract independent voter IMO

Well thanks to crazy primaries I hope he wins the nomination.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

Funny - I don't recall saying anything about Arizona being racist... in fact, most here are talking about how purple the stat has been becoming over the years.

Now - the question remains how many of the Conservatives in Arizona are actually Conservative, or are Alt-Right Deplorables is a better question!

Also, since when did Arizona represent "most of America"?

While I understand the reasoning for this, I hope he hits a brick wall and gets shut down before he ever starts. People like this don't deserve a second look from either party, the country will be better off if absolutely nobody supports his brand of crazy.

He will prob win the nomination since crazy gets you the republican nomination these days. I wouldn't be surprised if he won the race, but we will see. Part of me hopes the republicans over there nominate a sane candidate just so I can have faith the party can recover from the BS it supports these days.

Going to be funny watching democrats lose the midterms and you all will be here whining and screaming at the voters calling them racist and deplorable.

Given Joe's policies and how the judiciary has has to regularly tell him to stop and thats why Trump had to pardon him...

calling him a racist is actually accurate. You cant just stop all latinos just because they are latino and you think they may be illegal.

More like "point out that the deck was stacked against the Democrats regardless since the seats up for reelection in the Senate aren't favorable to them and the House is gerrymandered all to fuck".

Congress hasn't been representative of what the public actually thinks for a long time.

So the solution is to attack and berate the voters?

When they make idiotic and hypocritical decisions, sure.

Thankfully, he is too old to be a real candidate.

The deplorable racist aweful ones, sure!

I mean, when in EVER did somebody say "Well, I don't like this racist horrible ex-criminal person running - but some guys on the internet said Arizona has racist people on the Republican side and we would vote for him. While I'm not racist, I hate that they think that of us - so I'm going to vote the Racist ex-criminal in just to spite them and in spite of my own moral beliefs!"

    I mean... really? o_O

I see what you're saying and with McSally as the party's choice it would be surprising to see Arpaio make it through the primary.

We could, for fun and bragging rights, set up a bet on: A) will he make it to the primaries, B) what percentage of the primary vote will he get, and; C) will he win the primary and be the nominee.

In fact, let's do that. This should be fun. We're not betting $$$ on a political race, mind you, because that's illegal , but we are betting on it - winner gets bragging rights.

To enter, cut and paste the following and reply in this thread:

    A) will he Sherrif Arpaio make it to the GOP Primaires? Yes/No
    B) What percentage will Sheriff Arpaio get of the GOP primary vote?
    C) Will Sheriff Arpaio win the AZ GOP Primary?

    Good luck!

Do what Skroe does; wager a donation to a charitable organisation. Given that it has to do with abuses of justice, I'd say donate to the ACLU or Amnesty International.
