It was ISIS that drove the refugees on mass (refugee flow increased eightfold after they kicked off, and the refugees are not just Sunni they are Muslims of all types plus Christians and Jews (Syria is a secular state allowing freedom of religion, that's one of the things the rebels are looking ot "fix").
All elected governments are tiny factions, the Russians supported the legitimate government which was supported by the vast majority of the country. The fact they were fighting against Al-Qaeda should have been an indication of which was the right side to back lol.
Yes we can tell you "that concern about all those refugees didn't swing the Brexit vote", because as said above your initial paragraph is a work of fiction, and secondly because Syria isn't in the EU.

Are you sure about that?

The French who colonized put Assad's tiny Alawite faction in power, gave them all the jobs and military positions. Why pick a minority group? Because the minority group is weak and will depend on the French for protection.
The majority Sunni came to hate the Shiite.
When the French pulled out, the Shiite Alawite faction held onto power by terrorizing the Sunni majority. It's a sectarian war.
Assad was more than happy to drive Sunni Syrian's like cattle into Europe.
Putin and his oligarchs do anything to distract the Russian people away from domestic affairs. Putin doesn't want the Russian people to notice all the corruption going on like Putin's $2 billion in a Panamanian bank account, revealed by the Panama Papers.

Apologies, I had no idea he was not a journalist, seen the video few years back and it like a real outburst. His criticism is still valid, though

I guess it's telling how this thread is swarmed by the troll brigade right away.
The problem with your theory, is that despite the western media branding him a dictator Assad holds onto power by winning legitimate elections, because he has the support of most Syrians. Which makes sense considering the ISIS extremists and the "moderate" rebel extremists both want to abolish the secular Syrian republic, create an Islamic state, and kill/kick out the Jews, Christians and other Muslims who disagree with them.
Hell, one of the rebels biggest complaints about the Assad government was the introduction of women's rights and allowing them to remove head coverings lol.
I wonder if they were also involved in things like black lives matter.
The worst part of all this, is the people denying this fact to fit their political reality.
They are utter puppets to Russian bots and paid Kremlin shills. It's sad to see how far they fall. Putin comes out and says Patriotic Russian hackers may have interfered and still they think the narrative is false. The same people who will go and follow twitter accounts from saint petersburg that will retweet shit and try to stir the pot of anger.
I miss when this shit would be an act of war.

They have been. They were caught trying to stoke hatred of police with fake BLM facebook pages.
"HA. These guys think that all these Problems the EU is having isn't all because of Russia. They must be part of it."
It's gotten to the point where when I hear people trying to attribute things to Russia constantly I can just assume they are about as worth speaking to as a Donkey with Brain damage.
Don't bother.
Anybody having different opinion, other than current agenda is paid troll.
It's so easy to label people, assigning them views and opinions on a subject matter they might not even have.
It's like SJW screaming at Milo Yiannopoulos, gay dude who likes black guys, racist and fascist. They label him this way to justify their hatred towards Milo, forcing him to explain the difference between fascism and being conservative, instead of talking about his normal agenda.
And here we have similar thing: you label person troll without any evidence so you can nullify any information he/she has, even if it was good researched and justified.
This is the world we live in right now.

You know what even better? Links to all the above information.
Especially I want to see where exactly Putin admits stuff about patriotic hackers.
Otherwise it sound like false information.
More like "These people are sick of people trying to deflect blame from shitty left wing politicians trying to pretend all their fuck ups are caused by Russia, so they make sure people realise its actually not Russia and their own Countries that are to blame for their shitty situations."
I'm starting to think if Russia had never existed the rest of the world would be living in a perfect utopia with flying cars, free energy and no crime or poor people. Is this close to accurate going by what our media's been reporting over the last few years? Are all the world's problems a direct result of Russian meddling?

While not being Shiite, he gets his support from them.

Those sources are not reliable. This is the exact misinformation the Russian propaganda ministry tries to promote worldwide.

Oh trust me, many Russians know about Putin's corruption. But many feel powerless, have moved, or would rather have Putin than go through another period of instability.
Disinformation or actual information. I mean many things can be said about all of this, but some of it has been true, and quite embarrassing for our politicians. That it is a foreign influence however that pushes those issues, that's the part where it starts to get somewhat problematic, because a lot can be said about our broken systems, but adhering to a nation that is arguably way more broken, is not the path one should want to travel down.
Also, #FakeNews
Absolutely! I would even suggest investigating Spanish Inquisition, plague and medieval witch hunts as things that were a direct result of Russian meddling. You can never be too sure. Also, Rasputin and Putin? These names are far too similar to be a coincidence. Suspicious to say the least. It might be worthwhile to check if Russia's current president is not the 150yo Tzar adviser / warlock, who survived numerous assassination attempts back in the day.
