Sports shooting is quite different from having a gun just because you can. In SK you have to store your gun for it at a police station, you can't keep it at home.

Yep. Gun culture is so deeply embedded in the American Psyche that preparing for Gun Violence is practically treated at the same level as other places would teach preparation for natural disasters. That's practically an admission that any attempt at control of the situation is beyond their reach. Except that instead of, say, being taught how to survive in the event of an Earthquake, children are taught how to best sacrifice themselves to minimize collateral damage should a shooting occur......

Why work to prevent the events from happening, when it is so much easier to just teach people that they can sacrifice themselves on the altar of the NRA to make the bodycount a little lower.

I think its just insane to have "gun rights" or a right to bare arms in a modern society. When i read some of these stories here on how easy it is to get a firearm in the US i can only facepalm. I'm getting really short on hands to use when you read some of the other bull shit that is spewed out in order to justify gun rights and practices, hell most of the guns there aren't even properly registered as it would somehow "infringe on their rights". Its utter madness, and for as long as they don't want to change their barbaric ways then i really can't have much sympathy for these "outbursts of freedom".
