That's the claim from the NBC op-ed piece by Evan Siegfried. That's quite a claim and as Evan says, it would fly in the face of reality and facts! Let's see what the USA Today editorial board actually wrote now, shall we?

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/opini...ates/89770472/

They're specifically speaking about personal scandals, matters of behavior related to him and his family rather than policies or government activity, of which the USA Today editorial board is absolutely correct. And Siegfried is little more than a dishonest baby who has to lie to find a way to be "victimized" by "the left".

It's hard to take his piece remotely seriously when literally 5 paragraphs in he's already lying. Earlier too if we look to actual internet history and see that the "Binders full of women" comment coverage was largely driven by the reaction to his comment from viewers who commented on it on social media. Media covered the reaction and reacted afterwards, but despite Siegfried trying to pin the blame on media for portraying him as an "anti-woman extremist" (which they didn't do, though they did present his comments in context with many of his policies related to women's issues including reproductive rights etc.) they were absolutely not leading that charge.

You know how superficial this sounds? "Hey we are not talking about scandals that actually matter like obama letting banks that engaged in widespread criminal fraud of the hook or how he turned Libya into ash in an illegal war. No, his family was glitzy and presentable. Thats what matters"

Thats why no one takes liberals seriously.

It's not superficial, because it's a literal distinction between scandals for his administration (expansion of drone program and some dubious legality, fast & furious etc.) and personal scandals which he was free of that other administrations weren't (Bush Jr's daughters partying too hard, Clinton getting an Oval Office blowjob etc.).

It's a distinction made specifically to juxtapose his lack of personal scandal over 8 years with the fact that Trump was entering office mired in personal scandal.

On the downside, Obama's blunders in Syria, Iraq and Libya helped give rise to the Islamic State terror group in those nations and beyond. Like other recent presidents, he will leave his successor a much larger federal debt and virtually no progress on curbing the benefit programs that drive deficits. And, despite his 2008 campaign pledges, he wasn't able to change the way Washington works or radically improve racial relations.
Literally from the USA Today piece. It's not a lengthy post-mortem on his presidency, it's a statement from an editorial board. It's not going to exhaustively go through his presidency and every win/loss/scandal, but it paints a rather accurate portrayal of a president that was a good man, had a largely successful presidency, but wasn't perfect and had his fair share of blunders.

Good lord dude, do you even read the articles you link or comment on?

The bush jrs daughter partying too hard was slandering bullshit not worth a scandal. The reason why obama didnt have one of those superficial ones is because no one dared to get close to it. There are videos of obamas daughter twerking her ass in a smartphone video, and you can bet your left nut it would have been a scandal if it was bushes or whoever republicans daughter.

The pathetic strawman to obsessively distinct between private and political scandals is laughable. Every political scandal is also to a large part a personal one.

I mean, one of his daughters smoked weed once which was a bit embarrassing, but that's about it. I have no clue where this "no one dared to get close" comes from.

And slandering? No, his daughters were partying super hard to the point that it became a joke that even made it onto the venerable (lol) Robot Chicken. It's not slander if they're actually doing that shit. Those allegations would have to be false for that to be the case and...well...they're not.

Do you even know what the strawman argument is? Because it sure seems like you don't.

Look, if you dont think political atrocities like the illegal libyan war reflect poorly on a person in addition to his policies, then we are done here.

Your inability to understand the difference between policy/administration scandals (political) and personal scandals (non-political) isn't my problem, dude.

    Yes.
And he may understand but he sure as hell doesn't care.

He's literally explaining non-binary nuance to you. You're the one demonstrating an inability to see that nuance.

During Obama years, conservatives: "Government should be completely 100% transparent!"
During Trump years, most conservatives: "WHOA THERE, STOP REPORTING ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT, WE KNOW IT'S THE TRUTH BUT REPORTING THESE SECRETS ARE TREASONOUS!"
2014 Gamergate: "If you want games without hyper sexualized female characters and representation, then learn to code!"
2023: "What's with all these massively successful games with ugly (realistic) women? How could this have happened?!"

Someone tell them that amazing is an subjective term.

    It gets even better

Trump: "We've accomplished an economic turnaround of historic proportions."
    Politifact: "Obama did well too"

You do not see anti-Trump bias, even if your "fact checking source" argues like a 5 year old. Sad

And why is this person flaming undisturbed?
Historic proportions is a silly rhetoric, when the previous president did better, heck he was in charge for the turnaround. If anything it's Trump trying to steal the shine from Obama's years. Pathetic.

Doesn't surprise me one bit that you think opinion is fact, since you consider your own as facts all the time here.

Well it would be amazing if it weren't for companies buying and selling goods like mad before tariffs kick in. Put hose products back down to normal levels and the GDP would only be under 3 in some estimates I have seen.
