We already knew they nerfed NEs for story convenience, but this was a new low all around. They leave their border with the Horde almost completely undefended during a period of intense tensions, let smelly Forsaken out-sneak them in freaking Ashenvale, abandon most of their territory to fall back to a spot that can be flanked with a convenient tunnel that even Saurfang can guess exists, attempt to defend the indefensible Lor'danel, have their military leader be absent the entire time because she had a manicure somewhere or whatever, and then finally their world tree is so flimsy that flaming boulders light up the entire thing like a Christmas tree after ten seconds.
It's a bad day to be a fan of any Horde race other than Forsaken, but a worse one to like Night Elves.
I didn't expect anything. And yet they managed to disappoint me. It's not even that it was Sylvanas. It's the way they acted before. They were like "Just wait, you don't know everything yet!" They acted like the most obvious answer would be just too easy. They made people speculate who it could be instead, since no way they would just make her do it. AND THEY FUCKING DID. The last bit of faith I had in their writing is gone. Especially with Golden. This BS reeks of her shit writing.
You don't understand what morally gray is. It is war. She barked a second time because she had to change the plan because people didn't follow her orders. Any leader would show emotion at that point. The fact that you are calling people retarded because she is doing something "evil" shows that you don't really understand what morally grey would be.
You also ignore that it is war. Why occupy when you can raze? She wanted to take hope away and when they failed to kill malfurian the tree was the other option. Clearly taking seige weapons to an Island tree shows that burning it was always an option on the table. They didn't even bring any of their own fleet.

You know a community is bad when moderators lock a thread because "...this isnt the place to talk about it either seeing as it will get trolled..."
Considering Golden didn’t write this..... prob an accurate reflection of those already in a hissy fit at her
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..
That moment you remember when Garrosh stopped the Horde commander in Stonetalon from attacking the druid civilians.
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.
Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.
Still, it was Blizz that gave Golden the crappy story framework to fill out in the book, yelling at her because a bit of the story she didn’t even write isn’t up to snuff (Admittedly it is incredibly lame) is just stupid childish kneejerk response, yell at Blizzard for putting in this ridiculous story development, not Golden.
Im a little sick of seeing this.vher actions were unjustified for several reasons:
1) Valid cause to assume that there were no more military personnel in the city.
2) The city was essentially taken already. There was no benefit to destroying it.
3) Its a city! Filled with civilians and refugees.
No war justifies the burning of Teldrasil as it happened.
The ordinance in the catapults could be lit on fire or fired as normal projectiles - having incendiaries at the ready against the Night Elves (with their reliance on Ancients and other nature-based protectors) makes a deal of tactical sense. I don't think this speaks to any prior planning on Sylvanas' part to burn down Teldrassil though. At the beginning the cutscene she even states her intention to take the city, moving ahead with her original plan. It's only her brief conversation with the Night Elf sentinel that seems to change her mind, making her decision to torch Teldrassil more of a spur-of-the-moment reaction. Even Nathanos appeared to be taken aback and uncertain what to make of the change in plans, although he offers no verbal retort. I think the implication is pretty clear here that Sylvanas permitted rage to cloud whatever she has that passes for "reason."
"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
Tbh it was, before the Thrall came. And it left with the Thrall. Horde wasn't honorable. Thrall was a honorable Warchief that was a good influence on orcs and reigned in forsaken/goblins to be in line. Without him noone keeps shady leaders in check and orcs are getting back to their bloodthirsty days. Think God Emperor and how everything goes to shit once he is no longer around to babysit Imperium.
