Not shoot them if rocks are being thrown. But if they are shooting at them with firearms? Absolutely. Would be nice if they had those huge high pressured water trucks I saw the Germans use once on protestors. And tear gas is always a option. But not if children are in danger of being hit. They will be there mainly as support for the authorities. So I am not expecting anything bad to happen, except blow-back from the liberals over them being confined to containment tent camps for processing.

Pretty sure it’s against the law for US Military to perform any Police duties/actions and/or engage in combat with civilians. They’re only there to support police, supply equipment and be an additional presence to deter people.

Only if the rock throwers are literally trying to maim or kill the military personnel with stones (IE: aiming for the head/eyes) and even then it should be like rubber bullets/non-lethal.

I have an alternative. Protesters who attack military/police personnel should instead be shot in the groin with rubber bullets. Much more debilitating and embarrassing to boot. They'll think twice next time before chucking stones at someone.
