It's up to the parents whether they want to take their children to see these individuals read stories. It's ultimately no different from anyone else in any other sort of costume reading stories.
And for all of those "concerned," I highly doubt that four year olds would be able to piece together that these are men dressed as women and begin to "question their own sexuality and debate a life of crossdressing" or somesuch fears anymore than them seeing any other costumed character would invite them to think they can be batman or a clown or half of a horse.
“Do not lose time on daily trivialities. Do not dwell on petty detail. For all of these things melt away and drift apart within the obscure traffic of time. Live well and live broadly. You are alive and living now. Now is the envy of all of the dead.” ~ Emily3, World of Tomorrow

What is perceived as normal changes all the time.
Example, high heel shoes were originally only worn by men (for horse hiding), used to wear wigs and make-up during Georgian times, Etc.
So...
Plus, ever heard of Pantomimes? They've been around and still is for the past 2 millenias...

Kero the Wolf, SnakeThing, "petting zoos" at furry cons and more.
Still not tired of winning.
Oh no.
What if these children grow up to become less judgemental about how people look? Can't have that.

theyre not drag queens. Theyre transgender females(males?) conditioned with the expectation they be their biological (read: real/from this physical world) gender by society and sociological norms.
obviously.
I mean I don't care if a cross dresser wants to read to my kids in school, but do you have to dress like a goddamn clown? and a scary one at that?
we get it, you're weird! good for you!

This forum hilariously freaks out about everything.
I mean, of course there's a risk. Makeup smudged by little hands, toppled wigs, and broken heels. Queens are risking a lot here!
Also, it's been happening for a good while now. But shit, this forum is still stuck on its 2014 trans jokes.
The outfit doesn't seem appropriate for the setting. But I guess a lot of kids like that. I would never spend that much effort reading to kids.
