Incidentally, this problem is not specific to America, but a direct consequence of universal suffrage. Observe Brexit.

We have a thread with his faithful raving all over it.
Which thread? It sounds funny, but I must have missed it.

    It's this one.

Oh, I agree most of them are merely stupid. But equating the two casually covers up the ones who are actually evil.

If you're living in a bubble and you haven't got a clue,
You're gonna be in trouble, 'cause you don't know what to do.
'Cause what you want ain't what we need, and all we do is dirty deeds
    You're the Space Force!
Or not! Not the Space Force...

Said you want to make a Space Force, said it with all your heart...
But it'll really be the Air Force, just a little bitty part.
    You wanna rule the galaxy
But it's just Air Force Part B
    It's the Space Force!
Or not! Not the Space Force...

That's right, that over-hyped Space Force (SPAAAAAAAACE) is just going to be a smaller sub-division of the Air Force. Trump's trying to call it "separate but equal"

"HE DID NOT USE THAT TERM."

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS GUY?"

Yeah...anyhow, yep, he lied about that, too. Not separate. Not equal. Not the sixth branch of the military which he promised.

Which is exactly what @Skroe said would happen.

Yep...it went from Suck to Blow.

A trove of more than 800 pages of emails sheds new light on the working relationship between Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, one of the most potent power couples in Washington — including their dealings with McConnell supporters from their home state of Kentucky.

Chao has met at least 10 times with politicians and business leaders from the state in response to requests from McConnell’s office, according to documents provided to POLITICO by the watchdog group American Oversight. In some cases, those people later received what they were hoping for from Chao’s department, including infrastructure grants, the designation of an interstate highway and assistance in getting state funds for a highway project — although the documents don’t indicate the meetings led to those outcomes.

The records also do not show how frequently Chao has met with people from outside Kentucky, a state her husband has represented in the Senate since 1985, or how readily she has responded to similar requests from other lawmakers. But at least a dozen of the emails show McConnell’s staff acting as a conduit between Chao and Kentucky political figures or business leaders, some of whom have had prior relationships with the couple.
Nothin much goin on here, just a little bit of casual corruption and inside-dealing between McConnell and his wife Chao, who just so happens to be Secretary of Transportation. Purely to use her office to benefit McConnell.

Because let's remember, Trump isn't the only corrupt politician out there.

Hey, remember that nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia that involves close personal and business ties between Kushner and others in Trump's orbit?

Yeah, well apparently it's still looking sketchy as fuck and there are whistleblowers raising concerns.

So let's talk about the White House commun--

    "I don't exist"
    -- Lindsay Walters

    ...nevermind.

With the loss of Hope Hicks, Sean Spicer and The New Guy, Sanders is basically the only one left with any seniority. The WH PR dept has suspiciously high turnover.

To Edelman? Depending on which office she ends up in, she may find herself receiving a rather chilly reception from her new team(s).

    Mr. Gaetz makes no apologies.

“Do I think it’s right that our work in the Congress has aided in the president’s defense?” he asked, before answering his own question.

“Yeah, I think it is right.”
And today in, "YOU IDIOT, YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SAY THAT IN PUBLIC!" we have Rep Matt Gaetz of Florida admitting that Congressional Republicans, rather than do their jobs and be a check to the executive branch and engage in good faith governance, aided in Trumps defense which is distinctly not one of the roles of Congress.

    Very. Stable. Geniuses.

More on Clarence Thomas and this is scary.

Clarence Thomas called for the Supreme Court to reconsider New York Times v. Sullivan, the landmark First Amendment ruling that makes it hard for public officials to prevail in libel suits https://t.co/hKTmRHwsKH https://t.co/yNW7mfIAyT
    https://twitter.com/nytpolitics/stat...628170753?s=19

So to tie this with Thomas and his wife (she is a despicable person), who reports were trump had Thomas' wife over lobbying her for we don't know what.

So yes the snowflake in chief has cried about not being able to sue the free press. Thomas now all sudden wants to take a "look" into this First Amendment ruling. Yes, he would 4 judges on SCOTUS to rule, plus a lawsuit making its way to the Supreme Court.

It's scary, but I doubt the rest of the SCOTUS has any desire to revisit this. Thomas has always been a ideological prick and super gross, so this isn't remotely surprising.

I feel like the loosening of libel laws would blowback so hard on the right wing that they would burn effigies of Thomas for decades
