"While Buccaneers' DE Jason Pierre-Paul will be visiting this week with neck specialists, the belief is that he likley will need surgery for his fractured neck, per source."

After his car accident a few days ago. If he has surgery, he is likely done for the season.

"The #Patriots are planning to sign free agent OT Jared Veldheer later this week, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. The veteran former member of the #Broncos and #AZCardinals visited New England last week and the two sides are in a good place with numbers. Provides key depth." - Rapoport

So the Veldheer visit WAS a precursor to a contract, they were just waiting for the pick comp formula to be closed (which happens today).

Seahawks beat out the Bills and several other teams for Ansah's services. They obviously had a need at the position after the Clark trade.

So Telvin Smith is apparently taking a one year hiatus.

Also apparently the Jaguars weren't informed of this.

Baldwin and Chancellor both terminated by the Seahawks for "Failed Physicals." Guess the rumors of Baldwin's retirement were true.

LOVE the Ben Watson signing. Consummate professional on the field, terrific person off the field. He's obviously only going to be a bridge to younger players, but he fits what the Patriots need right now perfectly.

"The #Dolphins have locked up CB Xavien Howard on a 5-year, $76.5M extension with $46M guaranteed, source said. Huge piece of their future."

Smart move by the Dolphins. Howard has consistently been a problem when we play them.

Legit depressed about the Doug Baldwin news. Kam was a given, but I thought that the Seahawks may give Doug more time to decide on his own terms.

I hope DK Metcalf lives to the hype. Would like to see the Seahawks put him in cryo sleep until week one, waking him up like Master Chief in Halo.

That Xavier Howard contract is going to make Chris Harris Jr ask for like $18 mill a year or something equally insane.

This is on the same level as me hoping Brett Rypien ends up being good.

Even as "bad" as he is, there's not enough people in the world that can do what he does, as well as he does. Scarcity gets you paid.

I don't know what the Patriots are up to, but check this out:

    Receivers last year:

    5'10" Edelman
    5'10" Dorsett
    6'00" Hogan

    Then we signed:

    6'3" Josh Gordon

Since then we signed/drafted in 2019:

    6'3" Harris
    6'4" N'Keal Harry
    6'2" Meyers
    6'2" Damoun Patterson
    6'3" Thomas
    6'3" Ubosi

    6'3" Inman earlier today/yesterday.

So, basically Bill struck out on all the shifty 5'10" guys and was like "screw it, we'll go big" instead?!

No idea what the plan is but it's a really radical shift in identity from the look of it.

I mean, he made 33 million in 14 years. That's not much by QB standards. I think that's just about what you should expect.

More shows that they aren't finding their guy at TE.

I don't know if that's it or not, but they have seemed pretty happy with the players they signed and didn't draft anybody. You would think they would have looked into drafting a TE if that was their priority. (and they had basically everyone except the 2 Iowa TE's to choose from, with several of their picks)

WR they picked up are also all mostly outside receivers and not slot guys. So yeah, dunno.

The Patriots struggled in the red zone last year, and will be even worse without Gronkowski. A good way to improve in the red zone is to have tall WRs that can reach up and grab a corner fade route.
TO FIX WOW:1. smaller server sizes & server-only LFG awarding satchels, so elite players help others. 2. "helper builds" with loom powers - talent trees so elite players cast buffs on low level players XP gain, HP/mana, regen, damage, etc. 3. "helper ilvl" scoring how much you help others. 4. observer games like in SC to watch/chat (like twitch but with MORE DETAILS & inside the wow UI) 5. guild leagues to compete with rival guilds for progression (with observer mode).6. jackpot world mobs.

I hate this part of the off-season. It's almost always suspensions and arrests and random bullshittery during this time. Oh, and injuries from minicamp, those can take a hike as well.

Can't wait for July and training camp. 8 to 10 weeks to go. At least I still have the NBA Draft and Playoffs to tide me over. Otherwise it's baseball or nothing. Yuck.

Yeah I was worried for a minute myself. Fucking ESPN is really bad about headlines like that.

Jets just fired their GM. Adam Gase acting GM, while the search for a new GM is going on. Reaaaaaaaaaaaally odd timing of this.

    - - - Updated - - -

Oh and several reports of a rift between Gase and the GM. That's pretty quick for a coach you hired in like January. Gase clearly won though.

    That about sums it up...
