Gotta keep the balance between factions.

The best thing about it is that its possible to replay all vanilla quests and see what forsaken are actually about.

I dont know which planet you re living on but after watching the entire story and conclusion of bfa you cannot possibly think the faction barrier will stay. The factions will remain as flavor and for gameplay reasons (battlegrounds, warmode etc) but I m pretty sure come next expac you ll be able to group with everyone.

Not really. Too much salt pushes the price down.

I still have no idea why anyone would be against this gameplay wise.

I see only benefits to having x2 the amount of people to play with, and it'll be way easier to get new people to play if they can pick the race they want.

I believe that war mode in the lore will mean that you are a sylvanas or tyrande loyalist

theoretically there would be no problem to people group up with other faction to do content if they have warmode off, in the world or some instanced content

the problem is if they bring that shit into the lore, making a lame unification where factions and races will not matter anymore, just the ones blizz want to give spotlight at time and that almost mean just humans and elves.

the dialogues of the forsaken in orgrimmar clearly indicate that an important change is being prepared for the race
Forsaken Refugee: How could Sylvanas abandon us like this?

Forsaken Refugee: She's never been loyal to the Horde.

Forsaken Refugee: No, not the Horde. Us. The forsaken. We're her people.

    Forsaken Refugee: Not anymore

Orgrimmar Grunt: You must be saddened to see Sylvanas leave.

Forsaken Refugee: Why? Because I'm Forsaken? Did you shed tears for Garrosh because you're an orc?

Orgrimmar Grunt: No... I shed tears because he brought shame to us all.
Sylvanas has an exchange with loyalist players that basically states the Forsaken have already changed and that she expects them to throw their lot in with with a leader like Calia. She doesn't mention her by name, she just states that the Forsaken aren't really the way they were and have settled into finding a new life as opposed to being perpetually pissed off about their unfair treatment by everyone.

Sure would be nice if we got to see the hows and whys of this rather than have her offhandedly mention it in a sidequest to the one person she for some reason doesn't ditch but instead narrates at.
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.

Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.

Gameplay wise I m not against it but seeing as retail servers are all 99% horde or 99% alliance dominated I m pretty sure you wont be seeing anyone from the other faction anyway.

i see absolutely no reason to change one so fundamental pillar of warcraft franchise, we will have truce to face the Nzoth, as we always had when there was a bigger threat, and thats it...

but since you seem to be so all knowing, please, enlighten me why you think it will happen differently?

I really hope not, but it is most likely.

The books and other small bits of lore have been pointing at this. But I agree, there wasn't much ingame to show this change. I don't even think Calia is really mentioned at all Horde side, which is probably good they didn't just trot her out at Saurfangs funeral like here is a great white alliance hope.
