To me it makes perfect sense. We run into that torturer guy - he wants us dead, we want him dead, so obviously we fight. By defeating the torturer, we release Azshara - she knows we want her dead and since we were able to defeat her in her palace, there's no way she can fight us now that she's weakened by tortures. So the only way she survives is if she can offer us something more important than her head, like a way to defeat N'zoth, who at the moment is a much greater threat. Besides... N'zoth is her enemy too and us stopping him is in Azshara's interest too.

We need the help and so we strike a deal with Azshara. We're not friends, she's not redeemed, she just bribes us with the dagger, so that we let her go - we let her go, because we have to deal with N'zoth right now and we can go after Azshara later. That's it.

because its get tiresome of we helping edgy villains for then to be "redeemed" she did too worse to get a free pass too, death is what shedeserves
