We don't know. What few details we have are basically "we undo some of the damage Trump personally caused". China is expected to buy produce in similar quantities to what they bought before Trump started the trade war. There've been nearly no mentions of intellectual property in Phase One. And companies that didn't hire or give raises before due to the tax cut for the rich, sure aren't going to do so because Trump put back some of the status quo.

Brazil's doing pretty well, though. There's been a lot going on and most of us missed it, but, Trump is so angry that China just bought stuff from Brazil that the trade war now includes Brazil. It's like pushing Iraq and Iran towards Russia, except instead of costing US lives, it costs US money.

Multiple prominent economists have already pointed out ad nauseum that Trump has enacted exactly zero policies which affected the employment rate. Everything going on right now are the consequences of policies enacted 6-8 years ago.

Trump recently did use an executive order to give the poorest americans an extra $750 a year, by no longer having to pay extra tax on ACA. Something neo-liberal democrats (Biden, Warren, etc.) and even republicans and their media will remain silent about.

Can you link these "multiple prominent economists" saying that?
Cause if you're willing to wait till I get to a computer, I can link you a dozen companies that are laying people off because of the tariffs. And probably bury you in "prominent economists" as well.

The tariffs aren't shifting production to the US, companies are just partly eating the cost, and passing the rest to their customers.

And indeed production and manufacturing jobs have been shifting to foreign nations, mostly because it's harder to get cheap immigrant labor hired.

I haven't checked myself, so completely just off the top of my head but....

Aren't military also considered government jobs? And with the huge pay increase they gave them, did that effect their hiring any?
