It’s only very recently that a US guild (Limit) has become relevant to the race. And Limit is an amazing guild. They play in beast mode. This means that the conditions have changed and the time difference has become relevant. Which it never was before because of the lack of viable US guilds.

Limit and Echo are so close in quality that time difference matters a lot now. It seems impossible for Echo to win when Limit plays as they do now. Limit plays perfectly which means that Echo has to play better than perfectly to win. If nothing changes I think it will be a realistic possibility that Echo changes to NA servers.
So much this. But people just don't get it.
It would be the same thing if you made a copy of lewis hamilton and gave him a 2 lap headstart. The other lewis hamilton would NEVER catch up

Limit and Echo are equally good and therefore the headstart counts now

I am not actually saying this to be biased. These are things people say that kind of puts a stain on the achievements, l find that to be sad.
It's like you can't say anything here without someone assuming you're on the attack. People really need to calm the fuck down.

Boy we sure needed yet another thread on this subject.

Also, this thread was made by a guy who was trolling the main thread by spouting that Limit lost and Echo won.

everyone has pointed out the unfairness for as long as WF have existed... it's just that EU teams, in this case method, still won. The tune was instead "Lol eu wins even if US get a headstart". Which clearly shows people are aware of the advantage US has...

Actually they aren’t equally good, Limit won.

Also, why do people keep regurgitating 16 hours? It was never 16 hours. After you factor in maintenance, bugged bosses, and Echo turning off their stream even though they copied strats from Limit’s stream (Lol) it comes out to more like 6 hours.

What do l back pedal on exactly, my point still stands? Win or lose for either side, it'll always come back to this exact issue. You even said, "We sure needed yet another thread on this subject"

they only patetic thing is that people belive time advatnage have no side effects on world first race.

I have already posted nice example. Limit killed boss first but they were not the fastest so they didn't won in the end. The true winner is echo.

I don't get it why people don't see it. As i said US players want US guilds to win and EU players want EU guilds to win. It's something normal.
But if we talk about head start only it's getting unfair for EU.

Some people say that because bosses are bugged and EU coppy US tactics theyr advaantage (even a lot of US players call this "advantage") is like 5-6 hours only not 16. It is partially true but raids are not cleared in first week. After reset US got their hands on new items faster, they reclear and in the end they got 16 hours advantage.

Like srsly, i am not here to defend EU and blame US guilds that they got access to raids faster i am here only to point that time advantage is real and i will NEVER belive that people who think opposite are not just trolls or just very very stuipid. Sad but true

    Of course it matters.
If one team in a fotball match gets a 30 min headstart they will win the game. It's the same way in a race for the world first boss kill/raid clear.

Why is this even a discussion? Even Limits own RL said it was silly and a huge advantage for them.

Imagine a nascar race where the favorite gets a 2 lap headstart.

Some people here think it's fair

No. The world first race in general doesn't matter.

except echo didn't kill it within the 16 hour window, so your point means absolutely nothing. NA had to deal with sludgefist bugs that cost them time that was fixed for EU and they also had a longer maintenance. The fact that people keep glossing over those facts is astounding. Yes the NA realms let them start first but if the other guild doesn't kill within that time difference IT DOESN'T MATTER. (which they didn't)

Anyone who says the time difference doesn't matter is being disingenuous. Of course it matters, one guild getting several hours extra to kill a boss (or run heroic splits and increase their ilvl) matters. Like if Denatrius died on tuesday, Limit would be several ilvls ahead of Echo and there's literally nothing echo can do.

While the bugs/hotfixing issues as well as EU guilds being able to 'steal' tactics is also relevent, I can't imagine how several extra hours isn't more relevant.

How can you say that with such certainty. If the kill happens before the reset, it most likely does not matter because Limit lost some time due to bugs etc. But the kill being after the reset means limit had 2 days with way more gear and echo only had 1 day, which is a huge disadvantage. After the kill Echo stopped and killed it 4 hrs into the their next raiding session of the next day. So they were 4 hrs off the kill in raiding time while having a 12-16hr reset disadvantage.

I am not saying that Echo would have won, I am just saying that the current system is hugely in favor of NA, IF kills happen shortly after the first reset.

Why would you complain when you're winning in a disadvantaged situation. "This sucks blizz, fix the issue..." "But you're winning." There's no reason to complain when you're winning because it comes across as sore winners.

Except Echo took more than 16 hours to kill the boss after Limit.

I could understand this being somewhat of an argument if Echo killed it within the 16 hour window, but come on this is ridiculous.

its truly amazing how fanatical people can be,on both sides....but at the end of the day, global release=fixes the issues for both

yeah timezones can suck for different people, but this is their job, pretty sure they can handle an odd sleep schedule for a week,i mean what gamer here hasnt had the experience of sleeping in the day and playing all night?

  19. #99
so what were the release times for the rest of the world? is the US 16 hours ahead and EVERYONE else after or is it staggered even further?

"They didn't kill it in that time frame despite stopping the moment the other guild killed it to take a break and get some sleep and come back refreshed." Besides, you can argue all you want that it didn't effect this world first race. But my argument is answering the question "Does time difference between servers effect world first races?" Where the answer is it undoubtedly does.

I mean, this is the closest we will get. The question is what time they choose to make it as fair as possible.
