Now, this is whimsical. In the end, McTurtle got fucked by Trump just as he was running away from the whole deal.

You will find a great many Republicans would rather the money not be taken from them in the first place.

Wow you went into victim mode real fast. It was just 16 hours ago when republicans ran a commercial saying things like "We have to SAVE AMERICA from the LIBERALS."

You need to save the US from ME ???

After calling me evil so many times in so many ways, and in the last months repeatedly and loudly interrupting every TV show available to shout your message, you don't get to play the victim card.

Furthermore, in the past, and even in the present, republicans have made it clear that they will do everything in their power - even sacrifice America - in order to own the libs. That's me you are sacrificing America to try to "own".

If republicans such as Romney want to work with us to help move America forward, well we can accommodate that. The only way to deal with people like you who are trying to play the sympathy card with the purpose of owning us, well the only way through is to just run over you. It's the only way.

You have the freedom to support maskless hugging ceremonies like republicans did in Washington DC yesterday, spreading the virus and killing off as many Americans as you can in order to own the libs. You are exercising your right to work with Trump to destroy the very fabric of our country. And we will be exercising our freedom to fight against you as best we can.

They want a lot of contradictory things.

The Democratic party has been (for too long, imo) appeasing and accomodating of the Republican party while the GOP steamrolled Dems at every chance they got. Bipartisan efforts have come almost exclusively from the Democratic side of the aisle. Like Ted Kennedy, whose signature No Child Left Behind educational reform was so desperately needed, but in an effort to make it bipartisan (to be fair, he had to, Dems didn't have control of shit for most of the Bush years) kept watering it down to the point that it's become a blight on American Education.
Frack reminding me of ted kennedy, if he didn't die, Obama could have actually accomplished a shit ton more.

That's fine. 60% of the republicans can continue voting republican. The rest can move forward with us adding enough socialism in order to tame the problems caused by too much capitalism. And yes, you will fight us every step of the way. And we will fight back hard, knowing that you will work hard to sabotage our efforts and our country every step of the way.

You mean the money that Trump wanted to give them? You do know that millions of people are about to lose their unemployment, and rent forgiveness and be homeless? Nope, you don't care, you just want a few hundred thousand more to die because of Covid.

I lament that both parties do not give a crap about significant portions of the population. Both sides do not care about the people that don't agree with them. Hence why I would prefer mandated split governance.

When the right wing is slipping further and further to fascism, I will NEVER extend an olive branch to someone that literally threatens me every day and calls me a communist because I don't suck Orange Groppenfuhrer's cock.

Nobody fucking said anything about nationalizing anything.

The government has to balance its revenue/expenditure sheets over an extended period of time.

The purpose of the stimulus checks is to feed money into the economy. So people can buy stuff, pay for their expenses, businesses can make money and stay in business so later down the road the government can over time recover that money via taxation.

When you cut taxes on the upper end of the economy the way we have been for decades, you actually slow the economy down by taking money out of the system.

Think of the stimulus as a paid forward tax rebate to the actual base of the economy. A rebate that gets fed back into the economy, generating growth.
I was just pointing out that the costs vs the available assets are not quite as rosy as you seem to believe.

You still have to have at least as much coming in as going out long term, and really you need more to pay debt down.

That too, but McConnell pulling utter bullshit on those checks, and how quickly both GOP senators became "Oh yes, I support 2k checks!", I believe firmly the checks and McConnell fucking around sank them. McConnell fucked around and found out. Don't come between people and two thousand dollars in cold hard cash.

Completely false. Hillary tried putting together some programs to help coal miners move into new fields and have life after coal.

The coal miners said FUCK YOU WE'RE WITH TRUMP.

Then they lost their jobs anyways, without the job retraining and relocation help that Hillary was talking about. Trump absolutely refused to help them out in any way.

If you didn't notice, the $2k checks are also intended to go out to Trump supporters and rural areas throughout the south and states like Wyoming and Kansas that are heavily red. And the $2k checks would go a long way towards making life quite a bit easier for the unemployed coal miners as well.

I am not a Republican, and I would be (and have) saying the same thing about the GOP controlling all the power. Both sides are more than willing to sell out the US for power. I prefer moderation, compromise, and regional solutions.

Relocate to the city and give up your way of life and we will help you... Not everyone thinks living and/or working in the city is a great thing.

If that's the case you ought to have been voting Democrat down ballot since Mitch McConnels statement about obstructing Obama to make him a one term President back in 08, and having followed that line of thinking ever since. Since the GOP at large has followed that mold.

And there was nothing about relocating to a city. Might just be relocate to a place where you can build highways. Or install solar panels.

If neither side can ever have full control, compromise is inevitable.
