I think you are counting yourself out a little to quickly. I think both can do it. Could make groups for free too. Just don't give up if its really important to you.

Dodge the trap and the charge. You can do it.
You can even farm torghast for better luck with powers.

The S. Priest is ilvl 160 and even has a pretty good weapon (171). All of this from WQ's.
The Mage is ilvl 140 and also has a good weapon (190) that I paid 75k for.

The 2 characters have very different situations. Something has happened with the S. Priest this expansion and I can't play it right. It kept dying so f'ing easy while leveling that I was ready to pull the plug irrespective of Torghast . But I'm stubborn so I'll finish the campaign if I can but I suspect this character is going to be retired after SL. The Mage leveled fine but after that damned Priest and with 5.3 more alts to level I refuse to put that much time in to it.

Point of Information: I don't pvp, raid or do Mythic +. Heroic 5's and collecting stuff is my limit.

As for Torghast, in general I despise it. It is very time consuming and there is no reason for that it to be involved in solo play which the Covenant Campaigns most certainly are. YMMV.

And why is that?

Torghast IS solo content. It's just optionally possible in a group.

Also, the campaign parts are special, easier version of Torghast. It's not actual Torghast you're required to do, but quest appropriated modified version of it.

I'd suggest spending the 10 minutes to read icy-veins "easy mode" guide for your class and you'll do it no problem.

Hmm .. i `d suggest you buy the 168 crafted gear for your mage, which ( at least on my server ) isn`t very expensive.
Mage is a lot easier in torghast than shadow priest.

You could also go disciplin for torghast, makes it easier.

You can't do the scripted part of torghast on a mage? You mean the guy that sits on top of his mount and does nothing?

While we have another hero on here who claims he can't do torghast on a mage, that is complete and utter bullshit. Use your cooldowns (rune, IV/Comb, mirror images, TW) and blast that trashmob to kingdom come.

with fire mage, get the powers like '' reduce blink cd + whenever you blink, you leave a mirror image behind + your mirror images becomes more clever, casts improved spells '' and whatever you are doing will be trivial beyond measure. sure, it takes longer to kill something compared to a tank or a higher ilvl dpser but it is %1000 safer because you dont even have to touch anything. your mirror images will cast spells like db, gpie, fn etc they act like small annoying keyboard turner fire mages

i completed endless corridors layer 8 as a 202 ilvl fire mage with the above tactic.

It's most definitely doable solo, that boss really isn't hard at all. And as for as I remember, you need to use the waystone to "queue" for that easier version of Torghast, right? Is it even possible to queue for that with someone else (who isn't on the same part of the quest line)?

As others posted, buy some crafted ilvl 168 gear if need be. Also what Azerate said, Icy Veins "easy mode" summary for your class is a good place to begin for both talents and rotation etc.

Heck, you could even go as far as to install Hekili, the addon that tells you what to cast next...

Cant comment on the priest, but the frost mage:
Blind from charge
Interrupt "Rats!"
Avoid the trap

If you keep him at full range then he won't charge either

Not being 'that guy' or anything, but mage for the warden boss is easy, you just have to play the clothy class properly and not try to tank stuff ever

Worst case, go fire spec and try get fire juggler power (or buy from the vendor); content is laughable once you get that

Just go Disc on your Priest, could probably do it at 100 ilvl. Even if you don't like Disc it's like a 15 minute event and then you can go back Shadow, it'll be hilariously easy.

For the Mage idk, Mage feels insanely good in Torghast. You can basically just combust and the bosses die. Alternatively you can go Arcane and blow through it too. Get the power that gives you all 3 shields and the one that gives you 70% bonus to shield and you're literally invincible.

If you are that bad at the game with those 2 specs you could always try with one of the other 2 specs the 2 classes offer?
Shadow priest? --- play one of it's healer specs, from what i've read around these parts that makes it substantialy easier
Fire Mage? --- well, frost mages were always better with CCing mobs that are coming after you.

You could always try to find somebody to boost you trough, but if you behave in game the same way you write here then i guess there won't be friends to do it...

Everyone else: Can the scripted easy mode even be done in a party?

OK tbh I looked at the 168 stuff as a crafter and thought no one would be able to be "cordial" as yet so I never even considered the AH. Dang. Anywho yeah it wasn't that expensive and its worth a shot on the Mage. As for the Ven'ari rep there must be some way to speed it up that I missed.

Back to the priest. I have never played Disc and have no clue how to play the spec. Then again it appears I have no idea how to play Shadow either.

Just pop a PW:S every time you can, and deal damage.

1) Try applying to Torghast groups in group finder - my friend does that for his alts.
2) Don't write yourself off, I did my full pre-nerf torghast level 8 on a 172-180 frost mage, took me 2 hrs... Current renown + WQ ilvl should give you decent chance to do it if you take your time. Including bosses, if you target your power for that.
3) What region do you play in? I will do my runs today, don't mind dragging someone along.
