Why are you all ganging up on a guy for not liking a c tier tv series ? Just accept the series isnt world breaking but rather something to enjoy if you have nothing better to do / watch. You can like it, but thats no reason to gang up on someone, specially for a series that most people dont even know exists.

Also as someone who came here to see if its worth watching, is this one weird scene with the dancing in office + the she hulk being a better hulk true or just memes ?

because we are not ganging up on him for not liking something? we are refuting outright false statements made by him, on which he bases his "opinions"

Dancing in the office is a post credit scene bonus type scene, those are a marvel staple and only some of the time do they progress the plot, most of the time they are just there for fun. that scene is a joke on how much of a fangirl Jennifer is.

She hulk never claims to be a better Hulk. she doesn't even want to BE Hulk. 2 out of 3 hulks in the series do not have split personality or serious mental health issues in general. which makes control easier for them than for Bruce.

episodes are like 20 to 30 minutes long at most. give one episode a watch and see if you like it, because only YOU can decide if its worth to keep watching.

Yes, She-Hulk was dancing with Megan Thee Stallion in her office. It was distasteful imo, but it was an end credit scene, which tend to be comical bits as a send off at the end of the episodes. Not something to really get bent out of shape about.

She-Hulk being "better" than the Hulk is something that some people have interpreted from the first episode. But if viewed without any prejudice in mind, it didn't really play out that way.

Was it even distasteful? I'm not sure what that means in this context tbh.

I'm genuinely baffled by the Mary Sue claims. She's very self-absorbed and clearly has self-esteem issues. She resorts to using she-hulk to cover for her social ineptitude. In fact, in the last episode she botched her case and lost in court. She has failed repeatedly in the show. Where is the Mary Sue here?

The weird part here is that, if anything, the show is a bit lazy in the dynamics it has set up and the way it is addressing gender. It's a bit by the numbers and virtually none of these storylines would feel out of place in 1995. I think some people are so prone to literally seeing a female lead character and getting enraged that they aren't bothering to notice that this is probably the least gender-modern thing Marvel has done. Cmon, the dating stuff? It's so 90s sitcom.

Don't get me wrong, I actually really like the show, but this is a great example how there are some folks that are so buried in their political horseshit that they will read their general social grievances into literally anything.

That is up to the viewer. It is a me thing that I find it distasteful. I don't like sexually suggestive dancing in shows that are not made for adults only. Twerking, imo, is sexually suggestive.

Well, the "this show portrays men terribly!!" arguments should die, since they just had a woman play the absolute godawful annoying ditz role.

It's not a kids show. It's rated 14+. If a 14 year old is not prepared to see fully clothed twerking, something has gone horribly wrong with what their parents have done.

Are you referring to the best character in the entire MCU?

To each their own = )

14 year olds in my eyes are kids. But that is how I personally see it. I am no one's parent and would not tell others what they can or cannot allow their kids to watch.

But surely you agree that, say, a 6-year old and a 14-year old are not the same? Even though you'd call both of them "kids"?

Trying to somehow subsume that under a general label like "kids" seems awfully undifferentiated to me.

The average 14 year old has already seen pornography. I'm not saying that you are being pushy or telling other people what to do. I'm just offering a friendly reality check (as someone who has kids) that the average well adjusted 14 year old is a lot more mature than you may think, and in most cases has already had comprehensive sex education. In my opinion, to criticize the mild sexually suggestive content of She-Hulk, a show that shows people solving most of their problems with violent (like most other superhero shows), is to sort of miss what is actually potentially destructive in media content. It isn't booty shaking; it's the idea that the world neatly breaks down into good guys and bad guys, and we solve the problems bad guys create by using violence against them.

Like... Yes, to form your own opinion, you need to have experience. Otherwise it becomes ignorance.
Well said. This thread really has some of the weirdest takes I've seen in a while.

No, see, SHE managed to survive hell without anything ... therefore despite being a ditz, she is shown as capable and therefore is a positive portrayal!

**Not my argument, literally was made in this topic**

The argument is based on any negative for a man means the man is portrayed as negative regardless of how much positive exists while a woman is a positive portrayal means it is positive ignoring any negative.

That's basically it. If a man is shown to have any negative characteristics at all they consider it "proof" that the show hates men. Meanwhile any negative charactericstics of female characters are handwaved away by them.

OT: Episode 4 was a good one. Madisynn and Wong need their own sitcom. "Donny" Blaze was a very blatant reference to Johnny Blaze, and it was a nice little nod, tbh.

IIRC, Titania was to come back to the series from episode 5, so I expect to see her. Curious to see how that will go, since we're obviously starting to get into the meat of the story now.
Yeah, I am kind of stoked to see what 'superhero influencer' looks like.

Wasn’t it “super powered” not super hero?

I can see her doing dumb crap like lifting a car for likes or jumping off buildings. I do hope they play up her being more of an idiotic menace than an outright villain. This one looks ripe for social commentary, so I hope they really go for the jugular.

What I'm most excited for is that she's smart, not just a dumb ditz. Registering She-Hulk as a trademark and suing She-Hulk to screw with her is hilarious and wily. This is a pretty different flavor of Titania than the comics version.
