Belf tits.....Sylvari tits!
I believe this is somewhat relevant, user makes explanations for Guild Wars 2 using some WoW terms and small comparisons.

Uhm, I'm not hundred percent certain, but aren't there also normal quests in GW2? Besides events? Or are those called events too...? (Like the first objective you get when you create a character)

KK, I dropped that one from the OP, it was added after a suggestion in the replies. Until I have experienced the game myself, I won't be adding any further class comparisons to this list. Hopefully the classes are so different from their wow "counterparts" that they won't be comparable in this list anyway.
Not about them being similar, people do get the two mixed up - Hell, I get the two mixed up and I played both WoW and GW since their launch dates and from then on off and off for years.
And yes they are similar, just because Rangers can use melee weapons, doesn't make them not similar. A Hunter is basically half a ranger. I'm sick of people thinking things in GW2 'aren't similar' because they are, it's difficult to take a standard archetype and make it completely unique. Doesn't have to be completely unique to be good.
Also a few initialisms that people who didn't play GW might not get:
LA = Lion's Arch, the city in central Kryta
CoF = Now the Citadel of Flame (that initialism was used for Cathedral of Flame which was a dungeon in the charr homelands)
MM = Minion Master, this refers to a Necromancer who focuses all of his or her abilities on raising and maintaining minions.
