[Megathread] Steam Autumn/Winter 2016 Sale [Other major site sales welcomed too]

Yup, you guessed it, that time is year is starting to roll around again. Images are starting to pop up suggesting the sale will soon be amongst us. So going to go ahead and start the thread up for people to do preliminary talks, figuring out ways to save their wallets and anymore information we can dig up beforehand. As with the past few sales I'm guessing their will be some "meta game" associated with trading cards again.

So the question is........are you and your wallet ready?

It might be like last winter sale/summer sale when there were no flash sales and instead the same sale all event long.

The gog fall sale is already here. It started yesterday (3.11.). It should stay till the 13th, at least that's when most of the current deals run out. Sadly, the deals until now were rather underwhelming, most of the stuff was already available cheaper in other sales. But they're bringing new bundles each day.

You, and a heck of a lot of other people. I really think steam sales have shot their wad. Would love to see sales figures, I used to look forward to grabbing the big franchise bundles - but I have all of them I am vaguely interested in.

Well, i already spent my money for November on the Day of the Devs bundle so the Autumn Sale will pass. Now, about the Winter Sale, that's where i'll spend a bit more on Doom 4, Metal Gear Solid V (#FucKonami, buti want closure on the saga) and Enter the Gundeon; not much but 2 AAA titles is way more than i usually buy during sales.
I just need to check other retailers during that period because Steam is kinda slacking on deep discounts.

I'm considering picking up a Steam Controller (my current 360 controller has an issue where the left trigger sometimes gets digitally stuck on and has to be pushed in a few times to get it to stop being stuck) during the Fall sale. Does anyone have any experience with it? I know I can read 10,000 reviews, but I'd rather hear directly from someone I can ask questions to.

Welp, now that I'm for sure buying a 3DS on Black Friday (Nintendo selling the regular New 3DS for $100, I'd prefer the XL but that price is too good to pass up) that's definitely putting a damper on any games I'll pick up during this sale. Already have a handful of 3DS games waiting for me and I'm sure I'll pick up a few more, so those will be occupying my time instead of more PC games that will sit in my library unplayed for years.

Though I'll probably buy more games anyways, because who am I kidding, I'm a sucker for a good deal and supporting devs that sell games I'm interested in.

That puts it as only $30 more than the 2DS, and the ability to chance the plates for other designs at least is pretty cool for the regular N3DS.

Otherwise, the only game I might pick up for the PC is if GTAV happens to get a sale, which I'd be surprised if it didn't. Not a big fan of the game series, but it would be fun to fool around with once in a while.

I would pick up both games with a discount.

BS2 is more of the same as the first, if you liked that one you'll like the sequel.

Trails is JRPG goodness, but it never goes lower then $9.99.

I'll be getting Banner 2 when it goes on sale although as someone just posted above it is supposedly the same as 1 with very minor improvements. I can certainly recommend Trails and Trails 2, they are very FF7 like JRPGs and tons of fun. Just be warned, Trails 3 isn't coming out until 2017 or something and it is depressing sitting and waiting to find out the conclusion to the story.
