No it's not. IIRC Senate is allowing for remote Committee meetings so there shouldn't be any hurdles there. Not sure about the Senate proper on votes, but there's plenty of time for him to recover and return to the Senate for the full vote.

I've seen some conservative pearl clutching over how Biden should be respectful and suspend his campaign...fuck that noise. Trump didn't extend that courtesy to Hillary when she had pneumonia, and we know he wouldn't suspend it if Biden got the virus.

Lee, who serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, tweeted on Friday that he took the test Thursday, and would "remain isolated" for 10 days. He said he has "assured" Senate Republican leaders that he will "be back to work" to join the Judiciary panel to advance Barrett's nomination to the full Senate for a confirmation vote.

I'm taking that as he won't be doing any work with the committee till he's back. you could be right I suppose though guess we'll have to wait and see.

Virtually everyone hospitalized has access to remdesivir at the moment (though I think Florida was having issues with supply a short while ago) and it's not a miracle improvement over no treatment at all, it's just a lot better than nothing.

If we had effective treatments virtually no one would be dying, and that's not the case.

Still, at least Trump has hydroxychloroquine and injectable bleach.

"Best medical care available" really means very little when you have an illness that has no cure and borderline zero effective treatments.

The only thing he is guaranteed is that he'll get a ventilator if there is a shortage, but those aren't in short supply. Other than that I don't see any other leg-up he has over us normies.

The thing is, trump supporters are deplorable. People who aren't trump supporters, aren't. Shitty people would cheer for someone being sick and have the possibility of dying. I don't think dems want to appeal to those people, Republicans have them locked up already.

edit - that said, nah biden 100% should continue to campaign. absolutely no reason not to.
