Cause they went with the "Cyborg is Justice League" concept.

Jack from Mass Effect is in the Teen Titans now?

Well, I did romance the psychotic biotic but I'm not sure if that means I need to watch this.

Will it be the Talia al Ghul/Batman - Robin? Really like that version in the animated movies.

As for the series in general, I just hope it doesn't tie in with Arrowverse, which will most likely make it unwatchable for me.

    It's Dick Grayson as Robin

As for Arrowvese Tie-in...not impossible...but it is going to be airing on a DC Digital Streaming Site...so it's pretty unlikely.

It will almost definitely happen at some point. It's being made by the arrowverse crew and unlike what held back Supergirl in season 1 and black lightning, Titans is filming in Canada just like all the arrowverse shows are.

This show takes place right after dick decides he's had enough of Bruce's shit. I'd imagine he won't be Robin for long since back when this was meant for tnt he was Nightwing. In the original version of the script for the pilot he becomes Nightwing once he joins the Titans and he left Bruce because Batgirl/Barbara is now wheelchair bound. There was also supposed to be a love triangle between him Babs and Starfire.

In the cast list instead of Babs he has a partner who is a female detective from Gotham pd who comes with him. So it seems like Babs isn't in the show anymore.

I have a feeling they'll likely have him become Nightwing near the season finale. Dick is meant to be the main character and our pov character so a big part of at least the first season will be him trying to break away from Bruce's shadow

From the very beginning we've known Greg berlanti was helming this series so it was always likely. Now that it's filming in Canada it's just a question of whether or not this show has staying power past 1 season.

This is a big financial risk for dc. Right now they have

    Young justice season 3
    Titans
    Harley Quinn the animated series

They want people to subscribe to this so it would make sense to tie it into an already established fanbase.

Plus Warner Bros owns the cw. So unlike when Supergirl was on NBC there's nothing holding them back from including titans or any deals that need to be worked out.

Is Raven going to be blonde in the show?

Ugh. Keep fucking it up, WB/DC.

they'll be using a mix of makeup and cgi to make her orange and have glowing eyes

"Diop is getting VFX work done to bring Starfire to life. Though it may go without saying an orange, flying alien probably needs some special effects, this could give some insight into how much VFX work will be done as opposed to something more practical."

i just hope they dont make starfire a huge whore who sleeps with everyone like in the new 52.

they took away all of her personality, put her in a booby suit and had her fuck everybody. considering how popular teen titans and teen titans go is i imagine her characterization will take more from that and the old comics but then again... no cyborg sooo

That wouldn't make her a 'whore'. Secondly, her character was always designed to be sexually open. There is no reason to have Earth, post-Christian, ideas about sex and sexuality.

She is like nude for most her early appearances. And specifically looks down on the notions of sexual conservativeness.

That was also true of Marvel's Storm, btw.

theres a difference between being sexually open and empowering yourself and just being used as a sex object like she is in the new 52.

teen titans is one of the few books ive always loved from dc and the new 52 version of starfire is just awful (or atleast, she was when it first came out. havent read any dc books since the rebirth stuff)

this article explains it pretty well.

"With the introduction of The New 52 came some well-grounded criticism of Starfire and Catwoman. I’m not going to argue that Starfire functions as anything other than an exotic blow-up doll in the first two issues of Red Hood and the Outlaws (though it’s less overt in the second issue); I am going to argue that she’s gone from sweet to thoroughly unlikable in recent years.

Let’s be honest, though: Starfire was never without giant breasts and a skimpy costume. Here’s a glimpse of her in almost three decades ago in the Titans’ most famous storyline, 1984’s The Judas Contract:

Nothing subtle about that, but the objectification was offset by Starfire’s obliviousness to her own sexuality. Her innocence and naiveté (she was new to Earth) prevented the way she was drawn from feeling tasteless or exploitative.

Consider the follow-up to that page:

Or the end result of a practice fight between Starfire and Wonder Girl shortly afterward:

This was the Starfire of the ’80s and early ’90s. Cute and sweet, completely ignorant of the what a sex bomb she was. I’m not sure at what point writers officially decided to turn her into an angry battle-scarred warrior – when she was in space with Buddy Baker in 52? – but the impact her past has had on her psyche has shifted dramatically over the years.

Starfire’s origin is that she was a princess sold into slavery who later regained her freedom, which taught her to appreciate life and made earthlings, with their lack of slavery and diminished monarchies, seem charming and worth protecting.

That was then. Nowadays, well…here’s Starfire showing a remarkable amount of tact and restraint during Blackest Night:

The old Starfire would’ve been cool with a Tara Markov statue. This new Starfire reacts to it with borderline hatred. And, really, she’s had years to express her distaste or offer any objections to its presence; bitching about it now just seems like pointless aggression.

A lot of the controversy surrounding Starfire’s appearance in Red Hood and the Outlaws focuses on the personality issues raised by these two pages:

Alternating between subservient girlfriend and emotionless f-buddy to two of the DCU’s biggest losers (and with a wicked case of amnesia, apparently). It’s like walking into a strip club and seeing your kid sister tucking dollar bills into her g-string.

The fact that The New 52 Starfire is a pornographic ideal masked in faux-liberated female sexuality has raised the ire of many comic book readers, with good cause (they’re completely on the mark about Catwoman as well). But it should be noted that this isn’t the first time Starfire’s been all “Yeah, I’ll totally call you” when it comes to bedding male teammates:

Yep, that’s her humping and dumping Captain Comet in the pages of R.E.B.E.L.S. not a year ago. So as much as people feel like spewing bile at Scott Lobdell for the way he’s writing Starfire in Red Hood and the Outlaws, there’s a bit of a precedent there.

Regardless, the Starfire of the recent past is the complete opposite of the character that was introduced in 1978. Much like Ice in Justice League: Generation Lost, Starfire’s personal growth over the years has turned her into an angry, emotional mess, and she’s moved about as far away as she possibly could from what drew readers to her in the first place. The New 52 was supposed to be a chance to start over."

A tie in episode maybe...like the Supergirl/Flash crossover on the first season of Supergirl when SG was still on CBS...but probably nothing sustained with people crossing over from one show to the other on a regular basis.

    "White-ish"?

Since when is Orange a "white-ish" colour?
