If police are in pursuit of a suspect or have probable cause, they can come onto private property. Furthermore, there are plenty of situations where a LEO might have to enter private property, not all involving the commission of a crime. He could be canvassing and asking questions, seeing if someone witnessed a crime/suspect being investigated. They could be responding to someone else's call regarding possibly suspicious activity on your property.

Taking a needlessly adversarial attitude with law enforcement doesn't help anyone. Know your rights, but don't be a combative dickhead either.

Intelligence services in the West pretty often keep tabs on people who frequent Salafist websites and pages, or take part in salafist online campaigns, I'd wager.

I'd say it's equally viable to keep tabs on people who do similar things with right-wing and left-wing extremist sites as well. So yeah, at the very least people who are spreading and promoting the shooting video should probably be on watch-lists.

I'm more interested about this "arresting anyone who watched the video" line because at face value it seems utterly absurd. I saw a headline that they were arresting some kid because he hosted/shared the live stream (which unless it's a misnomer is the .. live. . stream) and manifesto .pdf; and that seems reasonable, as theres an implication if your hosting the livestream that you're in some way connected to the person with the video camera doing the murders.

Since then I've jus seen people saying "NZ is arresting people for watching a video omg Big Brother" so if anyone has any clarification, like someone who has literally been arrested just for having seen the video, that would clear it up.
