Get into a raid with Real ID friends

Anyone that has already tried to do this will know that you can't convert a party to a raid if there is someone from another realm in your group.

I just figured out a way that you can get up to 4 Real ID friends into a raid with you:

1. Invite someone from your realm to a group and convert to a raid
2. Walk inside the raid and convert it back to a party
3. Invite your Real ID friends to the group
4. Use the mass summon guild perk to summon them inside

I was wondering whether or not this would be classed as an exploit? You can still only have 5 people in the instance, which is the same as any other cross-realm dungeon. It's useful for boosting a lower level friend through an old raid or 5manning a 10man raid.

I'm fairly certain that, yes, it would be classified as an exploit. You are knowingly circumventing a restriction that was implemented by Blizzard and using a service for other than its intended purpose.

I can imagine one of a couple things will happen:

1) Mass summon will fail
2) They will get booted from the raid instance for not being in a raid group
3) They will enter a different raid instance than you are in, like they walked into the portal on their server

I can't really imagine this really working. I would test it myself but I'm at work. Either way, I'm going to go with what noteworthynerd said: don't do it since you'll likely get banned for it.

Me neither.

On topic; well at least now we know it IS possible to be in a raid with Real ID friends. We just need them to open up the permission to do it as a raid and we'll be all set.

As a side note to this; if they did something like this, it would mean they never have to expand character slots per realm since you could technically have your ten characters on any realm and still do stuff with your friends that don't involve direct questing. I could totally see guilds creating secondaries on separate realms that are actually the same guild, just different alts. Why, you ask? Why not?

Now, here's an interesting thought. Because of this and the inability to trade with people from another realm, you'd have to keep the Looting to Need before Greed or Group loot, because loot master probably wouldn't allow you to pass an item to somebody. Same thing if somebody wants to pass an item won, they can't so you have to watch who gets it.

This was added in quite recently as well. Previous you were not able to go from a raid to a party group without completely leaving group/disbanding.

Try to get two parties of 5 in the raid at one time, if you would be so kind. I can't, since I'm technically at work right now. But, I'll try to later if nobody is able to either.
