Your right if we were animals we would see it as a steryotype but explain to me why we have this ability. Why are we the only living thing on this planet with this behavior. You say science has all the answers what is it. And i dont want to hear how the brain works for faith I want to know why. Science will never have answers for everything because welk to me we werent meant to. We are different from the rest of this planets life in extraordanary ways and there is no denying that. I challange you and science to prove to me why humans have faith in more than just this plane of existance where you see this trait no where else. Look because i have my FAITH i know and i hate to be blunt, but your wrong. We may not have proof now but if people werent scared to upset society or be wrong we would. Sorry if i come off as a pompas ass but to a person with true faith you cant understand imo because your the absent minded one. My faith gets me through more on a daily basis that your close minded science beliefs ever could.

Just wanted to add a lot of people dont want to believe because there are things that if you do you cant if you just had ideals. Yes there are things that religion and beliefs say you cant do but to pass judgement on it because it tells you you cant do this but i want to is just wrong. Thats how i used to live. I didnt want to believe because i would have to change. To me now its just sad people are afraid to have a little faith out of the shear fact of being scared of what society will think.
Took me about 10 minutes to know what you were trying to type here. Punctuation, I suggest you search what it is.To me now its just sad people are afraid to have a little faith out of the shear fact of being scared of what society will think.
Oh and it's not that I'm scared what society thinks. It's just that I'm perfectly happy without believing in some form of spirits or deities or supernatural things. In fact, it makes me more happy knowing I don't have to believe in some bullshit. In fact, it makes me sad how anyone can believe in such bullshit and still take themselves serious. In fact, I'm again happy because I don't need it. And I do have ideals, good ideals as a matter of fact, it just doesn't involve bullshit.
We are
We weren't always - neanderthals made art. Whats hardest? Superstition or abstract thinking?we would see it as a steryotype but explain to me why we have this ability. Why are we the only living thing on this planet with this behavior.
Science does not have all the answers - if it had it'd stop. But it is using the scientific method to discover new things. You say science has all the answers what is it.
There doesn't have to be a why. But superstition probably had an evolutionary advantage as those who believed they saw something in a bush survived regardless of there being an actual predator there. And i dont want to hear how the brain works for faith I want to know why.
You assume a meaningScience will never have answers for everything because welk to me we werent meant to.
As i said - we weren't always. We just outlived the others. We are different from the rest of this planets life in extraordanary ways and there is no denying that. I challange you and science to prove to me why humans have faith in more than just this plane of existance where you see this trait no where else.
This is hilariousLook because i have my FAITH i know and i hate to be blunt, but your wrong. We may not have proof now but if people werent scared to upset society or be wrong we would. Sorry if i come off as a pompas ass but to a person with true faith you cant understand imo because your the absent minded one.
The great thing about science is that it is true whether or not you want to believe it.My faith gets me through more on a daily basis that your close minded science beliefs ever could.
So you arent a muslim because you like bacon then?Just wanted to add a lot of people dont want to believe because there are things that if you do you cant if you just had ideals.
That tells me something about your character more than than anything.Yes there are things that religion and beliefs say you cant do but to pass judgement on it because it tells you you cant do this but i want to is just wrong. Thats how i used to live. I didnt want to believe because i would have to change.
Many societies are still overwhelmingly religious and it is religion that has had a monopoly on power and truth for millenia. Now that we can actually call it out on its bullshit it loses power. To me now its just sad people are afraid to have a little faith out of the shear fact of being scared of what society will think.
I was going to post a response to Trunksee, but I think you've done a wonderful job, Catta.
i beleve in demons, shinigami, x dimensions and that i someday can teleport so in all i'm as crazy ad anyone that beleves in god
Ghosts well in my beleve after our death the spirit goes to another dimension and contiues life there. Unless you still have someting that chains you to this one in with you have to fulfill that.
A frightening thought, if ghosts exists... do they like to peep on people having sex?

I have a crazy hypothesis on why people see "ghosts":
What you're seeing is not a lingering spirit, a wandering soul or anything like that. What you are seeing is a kind of "imprint" of a person's electrical energy. The "ghost" is not aware of you because it does not possess conciousness, it's just a kind of after-image somehow imprinted on dark matter or maybe even space-time itself.
Electricity runs all through your body; it's in every one your muscles and your entire nervous system. This energy, when it comes into contact with an unknown event (a powerful electromagnetic force/dark matter collision/radiation/whatever) can leave a sudden, lasting imprint on the universe of that moment; maybe in dark matter, maybe in space-time fabric or possibly something else. And then sometime later something happens to cause this imprint to resonate or become temporarily filled with another form of energy and it becomes visible. When you see this "ghost" it has the form of a person, even their face because that's the shape the electricity was in their body when it was first imprinted. Even clothes store a small amount of static electicity when worn, so they can become imprinted along with the person.
The people who claim a spirit has spoken to them are making it up. The people who see a random ghost wandering by that doesn't even notice them may be seeing what I describe above.
Of course I'm not scientist, but I'd say this is probably more plausible than "lingering spirits returned from beyond the grave".
Only problem with that theory is that the electricity would be measurable. And as of yet - there is still no proof of ghosts/lingering spirits/invisible pink unicorns.
It infuriates me to know end to hear all those new age kinds of people talking about energy when what they are really talking about is space magic that isnt actual energy as the latter can be measured by instruments.
I had a experience once, still haven't been able to explain it.
Dad woke up early to ride a van he rent to the store. I woke up at about 7.30, someone was sitting on my bed, I felt the bed on the other side of where I was looking go down. I felt someone touching my hair, I was wide awake at that time I saw the clock. I turned up and wanted to look at who was in my room, there was no one there. So I had like shivers going everywhere on my skin. I decided to continue sleeping, my eyes didn't get closed, somehow I felt same thing again. My matras going down, touch on my head. I freaked out and jumped up into my bed, put on my slippers and ran down. My mom was already awake and watching television, I asked where dad was since he shoul've come home earlier. She said she tried to call him but didn't get through, his phone didn't seem to work. Obviously at that time I grew very scared, scared that the touch was my dad's ghost...since he was a hour late.
My mom grew anxious too after I told her, then five minutes later my dad entered house and explained he was in traffic and his phone batterie died. I still haven't been able to explain what happend...
Can easily be your mind playing tricks on you. I mean - i experience daily my phone vibrating in my pocket but when i check it is hasnt done anything. I looked it up and apparently its not uncommon.

Tbh, I would already be glad if people could simply understand that our senses are not to be trusted, and not call in something supernatural because you THINK you felt or saw something strange. Hell, most of these stories are from people who were sleeping. Awake and senses is not optimal, sleeping and senses ... even less.
Edit:
P.s. Am I the only 1 who finds it strange we're pretty much allowed to bash ghost believers in a scientific way, but have to "RUN TO DEM HILLS!" if we do exactly the same in any religion thread? -.-*
The core principle is the same really.
