I just got an idea about Khadgar.
Lets imagine that Blizzard story department decided that Medivh's original story with his rebirth after being decapitated, flying around like strange dude and then going into the sunset is too complicated and slightly BS idea given we wont get Aegwynn/past-future shit in the first movie.
So they will kill him off for real in the WC movie and put Khadgar into the role of Medivh in the WC3 adaptation. They already started making Khadgar look like the new Guardian of Tirisfal in the WoD/Legion lore. He got Crow Form, Atiesh, parallels with Medivh and other stuff.
What if the really decided to make him like they want him now to be?
That way in the movie universe they will avoid the necessity of his disappearance and thus BotDP events.
That way they also will make him look more like WoD/Legion type of character and avoid the necessity to involve him heavy into WC3 events.
He will be flying back and forth, encouraging main characters to do right things. And then he will go into the sunset to learn Naaru science in the Draenor, thus set up the events of the Burning Crusade for 11th sequel.
Why not?
p.s. I just remind you that movie universe is and will be more simple and more effectively handled than the vast, rich but complicated and full of errors canon universe that existed 15+ years ago. Having that fact in mind, i can imagine they will delete Medivh and replace him with Khadgar. And Alleria/Turalyon never happens. Cause, if we look at their place in the lore, we will see Blizzard never cared about them.

While I see your point, I can think of an important issue with changing the character like that: Redemption.
Medivh had failed the world, and he wanted to fix that. Khadgar is a character that does more than what people around him expect from him, he's a hero, he doesn't need to be redeemed.
Besides, from what we've seen, they're not removing or replacing main characters, they're not showing certain secondary characters that would just make the movie more confusing than it needs to be (Mannoroth, Kilrogg...), but they're being very faithful, considering the material is almost thirty years old and has been rewritten several times by now. There's no reason to think they would make such a change.
Ben Foster is a bigger name anyway, they'd want to keep him.
I'm surprised you guys are so fixated on sequels. This movie will be lucky to get just one sequel green lit.
Yeah, i agree with you at that moment at least. There is a chance Medivh will get redemption in this movie, but we will find out when novellization and movie will come out. There are some hints in the novellization preview about Khadgar's bigger role in Medivh/Guardian stuff. Alodi herself (its a woman in the movie universe) was revealed to him. While I see your point, I can think of an important issue with changing the character like that: Redemption.
Wrong move. Trashtalk incoming.
Plus, as has been discussed, in that scene where they show dwarves sitting down at the funeral, which is the same scene where that cry gets shouted, you can see a bunch of people suddenly turning around to look at something. I think someone's already posited that it may well be the orcs.
I am a huge pessimist when it comes to movies, but I am starting to think this might actually be good. I think I was successfully fooled by the trash marketing, because that PAX trailer actually makes this look decent. I think we are moving towards a good movie that does meh in the box office, and hopefully that is enough for more.
Fingers crossed here.Originally Posted by Duncan Jones

Got any more terrible ideas? The Khadgar/Medivh stuff is bad enough, but no Turalyon? Are you insane? One of THE defining moments in the entire franchise, when Lothar is smashed by Orgrim and Turalyon finally harnesses the Light at full capacity and blows the Horde the fuck out while wielding Lothar's broken sword? They've even got a perfect place for Turalyon as a surrogate son of Lothar (you know, like that organization they formed?) since Lothar's son is killed.
