Why would anyone want to download shitty youtube compressed videos anyway ?
The problem is that sites don't give a shit about the people browsing and don't care if their machines get all sorts of virus' and shit from the ads so it's up to us users to protect our own machines and one way of doing that is to simply block all ads because we don't know which ones are virulent so its best just not to take a chance with any ads at all. If these sites want people to disable their adblock then they need to start policing their damn ads and assuring people that their machines won't get infected by some possibly nasty shit but since its very obviously that they don't want to take responsibility for their content/ads then there is no chance I will disable my adblock, ever.
Also for these sites now trying to block users who use ablock there is a script for tampermonkey that bypasses this shit too
We cannot go back. That's why it's hard to choose. You have to make the right choice. As long as you don't choose, everything remains possible.
You are only getting viruses if you visit websites of dubious precedence. Mainly porn and piracy websites, major websites and even medium sized onews often do not contain viruses and at most you'll only need an anti virus, which you should get either way.
Look if you don't like ads that's okay, no one's going to judge just don't pretend there are moral justifications to your actions.

Come on, at least turn that off for channels you like.
Specifically I turn it on for channels I hate. Ad revenue makes the world go 'round. (Though if they try to give me one of those BS 2 minute unskippables, yeah I turn adblock back on for that video, but that's very rare)
I certainly hope they're solving the DMCA false claim outbreak. It's effected nearly every channel I watch! There's nothing fun about every other week your channel has to wrestle with legal BS.
im not sure if op is serious or not about his adblock statement
the ultimate answer's to all rogue issues :
-Rogues might still be dealing with the changes to combo points {2014}
Unless they can change the means by which they do it, then nothing will change.
There are many tools already offering that feature, some commercial even.
And what would their approach be it one were put up as open source ?
I have used a similar tool infrequently for when it is either more convenient to have a video offline, or when I want to view it on another device less suited or even incapable.
I will turn off adblock when a site doesn't have intrusive, annoying and generally detrimental advertising and unwanted tracking.
Popups over a video I am watching is simply not acceptable, auto-playing audio or video ads are not.
That doesn't seem likely either since there is this refusal to believe that people use adblocking for any reason other than "denying income".
This constant ignorant threat of putting content behind a paywall instead of making the ad experience better.
Within an hour of disabling adblock, users were getting malware from Forbes.

If you think attacking sites will stop this you have a lot to learn. People can rip video streams as it plays through command line if they know what they're doing. At that point you would have to restrict the literal output of your incoming data lol.
i am confused how is this not legal under fair use?
you are watching a video....you record video like you do on a vcr/tivo/etc....you watch it again later.
how is that not fair use?
