That's up to the super delegates to decide at the convention. That's what they're there for. To sway the nomination and make sure the strongest candidate for the general election wins. I don't agree with it, but it's primarily why they exist, and it's their call at the convention. Republicans don't have to worry about that, as they don't use super delegates.
Also I would say another notable difference is Bernie having the possibility to reach the needed number of delegates, whereas it was literally impossible for Kasich to get there months ago.
