Game was sold to players with Thal'Dranath in it. Now there is huge uknown. Yes they told us they have cooler idea. But as long as they will not show what they do now it is cut content what wanst replaced with other content.

They said there'll be a patch with an island called Thal'Dranath. They're now saying there will be several patches, at least one of which will contain a dungeon, 2 of which will contain raids, they just will take place in a different location not called Thal'Dranath. The name never meant anything, it's got no lore whatsoever associated with it.

Thal'Dranath was meant to be replaced way before Legion was announced and that's why it never appeared on the Legion website. The only mistake they've made is to show a PH map at Gamescon

Well... Farahlon was intended to be a content patch. Tannan Jungle however, was not. Farahlon was scrapped. Tannan Jungle became a patch. They didn't say it was replaced, but it was... by cutting content from launch.

This actually makes me wonder, which Broken Isles zone has least amount of content now? Worry about it, it might be the cool thing replacing Thal'Dranath.

Tanaan Jungle was always intended to be fully released in a patch.

Something we'll never know.
But we'll get something quite cool instead! Which hopefully won't be scrapped, due to unforeseen circumstances, once the hype-train has arrived and box-sales are no longer a priority..
