I was lucky to have started with the original FMA, after recommendations from my sister. Then had some friends guide me through the true light of actual good shows, and the only endless shounen I've ever touched has been One Piece.

Well, I never bothered to continue watching any of them honestly (Guilty of reading them all though, I can't leave something unfinished unless it's truly awful).

I didn't really get back into watching anime until my girlfriend and I ran out of Game of Thrones about a year ago, and she wanted to watch Tokyo Ghoul, I used to just stick to manga only.

I can't remember what first got me into it. I think something on Toonami, like Gundam Wing or Rurouni Kenshin. I remember not liking Cowboy Bebop, thought it was too depressing at the time. How things change.
