Is Legion Invasion gear really bad?

I don't know I leveled a Mage to 100 who has like 30min playtime on 100 and already 710 Gearlevel with 725 Weapon. And I'm doing 30k+ at least with Fire. But who cares about DPS now...

Cata? You have gear that is 3 (soon 4) expansions old? No wonder your dps is low.

My Warrior I created 2 days ago is 706 with full invasion gear, does 60k.

I got a toon with almost all free gear from the Legion Invasion and quests, ilevel 680.
Some gear don't even have main stats on them.

Go to LFR, barely do 20k dps.
It is not my rotation because it only has 3 or 4 buttons.

My last few toons that a leveled exclusively thru these invasion have over 700ilevel so I don't know what invasion gear you have to be 680.

Because that is how they will be like in legion for those pieces of gear.

Rushed my horde rogue form 87 to 100 this weekend. She was 703 ilvl the moment she reach 100 (with all the lootboxes + enough shards to buy whats left)

I think they also did another mini stat squish. My DPS numbers went down after the prepatch launched, but mobs were still dying in the same amount of time.

Nah no stat squish. Everyone is tuned for lvl 110 and everyone is missing new spells for basic rotation from their artefact weapon.

Exactly some are a bit higher than others due to getting lucky with warforged pieces. Some got 720 warforged pieces. So if only 680 that toon has very few invasion pieces of gear.

Afaik no neck/ring will have mainstats come legion.

That's yet another fail decision of theirs.

the rings/necklaces dont have main stat on them because they have way more secondary stats than a regular ring/neck would

but setbonuses+trinkets are really eally powerful atm so yeah you wont do much damage

altough im doing around 50k on my hunter with full invasion gear (i do have the 725 upgraded weapon tho) and im in ~702 ilvl

That's yet another fail decision of theirs.

Get a 700 ring from the broken shore scenario. Also get a 685 trinket from it that can upgrade to 695, did for a few of my alts at least.

That's not how it works. Even if you only had a single button to press, there would still be room for error. Not having a lot of abilities doesn't take away timing. You still have to pick the right talents. You also have to use those abilities properly, in the right order and right situation. If I'm doing a boss fight on my Assassination Rogue and I decide to use Fan of Knives as a filler and I spend all my combo points of Cheap Shot, I'll do terrible DPS regardless of my average item level.

I'm at 709 iLvl on my Demon Hunter. I used a mix of gear from BG's, Empowered Apexis, Invasion, LFR, and Kazz.
Since this was our last reset before Legion, you're kind of out of luck on farming stuff now.

You can also still buy i710 pvp gear btw. (just not the neck, rings and trinkets)

You can get 720 too. Warforged is 710 OR 720.

Necks / rings do not have agility, strength of int in legion. Means they can be used in multiple specs.

How is that fail? It's a pain in the ass juggling a healing set, a tank set, and a DPS set as a Paladin, and now I'll be able to fill in as an off role by just switching weapons instead of having to maintain a whole other set of gear.

I had a bunch of chests saved up from leveling through invasions. Using the thousands of nethershards I also bought the vendor gear. Combined with a mix of 710,720 warforged and a 725 weapon i am 705. I thought it was pretty OP for gearing tbh.

Because it means you have less stats in total, and it also means you have to compete with 19 other people to even get one. Might as well be the 20th to get one.

Not like it matters its just there for alts as a quick catch up so that they're not complete wet noodles going into legion questing. You're gonna outgear the stuff within the first 3 levels so no point in asking if its good enough for current content

Yep, pretty much. I think it's also meant for people who have outdated gear because they've been away for a while and are only just now coming back for Legion. This way, those people can easily/quickly get respectable gear for Legion questing. That was my case, anyway. Going from like....640 to 700 was a nice jump for me.

are you sure it's not you? Maybe you think your class is easy but it actually isn't, especially from the sounds of it you haven't even been playing it outside of invasions? Perhaps you should log your fights and post on the appropriate class form. As far as item budget goes, all the non jewelry parts are the same as other WoD gear. The only difference is lack of main stats on jewelry to account for greatly increase secondary, so this is not as favorable to dps classes compared to say tanking classes. However, that shouldn't drop your dps that significantly.

Like heck, even as a tank I can do 25-30k single target pretty easily in full invasion gear, and I honestly just "boosted" it through invasion too so I am probably screwing up a lot too.
