American Flag banned from South Carlina HS Football games

    http://eagnews.org/sc-school-bans-am...ootball-games/

...because it can be used to taunt hispanic members of the opposing school.

    WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?

While rather stupid to ban it, what is the point of an american flag during a HS football game? I mean, unless its against HS schools from other countries.

    Free expression.

If their loyalty lies elsewhere I invite them to bring their own flag. More information is good.

I say they let all flags in. I just wonder how many people would be outraged at seeing a rainbow flag, or even Mexican flags.

Exactly, the 1st amendment. Understanding where peoples loyalty lies helps us make more informed decisions.

If your loyalty lies in a flag, then I question your intelligence.

What if your loyalty lies with the thing the flag represents? Like, you know, how flags work.

Yeah loyalty to a physical flag itself is pointless. The specifics behind it are what is important, such as the border.

Loyalty in a border is also ridiculous.

But what a flag represents is a subjective thing. Does it represent the rugged individualism of many Americans, or the genocide and enslavement of humans? Should it represent everything done under that flag? If so, then I would be very hesitant to wave any flag.

They sing the National Anthem at games as a form of political indoctrination. It's no different than having children recite the Pledge of Allegiance... it's all just a form of brainwashing.

No it is logical when you border a 3rd world country where the people are poorer and less educated.

You mean like How Canada feels when they look at the United States?

A border is an invisible line in the dirt. Its sole purpose is to consolidate power for a central government.

Hah, if you think that's overly exposed patriotism, DK has their flag on literally anything that can be painted. Pub sing? Flag it! Salad dish? Stick some plastic flags in it! Pack of chocolate cookies? Fucking cover it in flags! And extra points for having word "Dan" being a part of the name.
