Except it was Trump who said he'd wait to accept the results, Trump who suggested 2nd Amendment people might need to "do something" if Hillary wins, it's Trump who constantly said he and his supporters would take the country back. To suggest that only one side has been divisive is disingenuous at best.

I didn't suggest that it was limited to one side. Between the two, though, it was the side backed by the mainstream media that did more to divide and turn people against each other. It never learned from Brexit - be it the American media or the European media.

Now if things genuinely take a turn for the extreme and very dubious policies go ahead then it'll be understandable if people take matters into their own hands (though again, I doubt they'd turn their anger on the right people and would instead go after innocents in all their frustration).

Funny thing is, I bet that had Bernie won the nomination, he probably would have swept everything. People are desperate for any radical change, Trump was it, Hillary wasn't but Bernie definitely was.

I think a more leftist candidate would help, the democratic party has moved too far right and have done a good job alienating their base unlike republicans who fear them. Hillary Clinton's policies by most measures were that of a hawkish republican.
