Because communism and socialism aren't dirty words or concepts. They're considered dirty because of years of McCarthyism.

Socialism itself has a lot of really good ideas that many other first world countries are adopting to coincide with their capitalist democracies to ensure a happier and healthier economy and lower-middle class.

But people in America assume socialism means Nazi Germany and that America is immune to all concepts economic science.

Meanwhile, the US has a middle class on the brink of extinction and a growing lower class living at or under the poverty line because we believe in giving all the money to lords at the top and hope they piss in our mouths once in a while. The wealthy don't pay the majority of the taxes. There's so many loopholes that the super rich who control 99% of the money use to avoid their taxes or offload money to foreign accounts.
