I can't help but give a sad, drawn out chuckle at this whole situation. What an embarrassment this election has been, from start to finish to now. Doesn't seem like we'll ever hear the end of it, either.

I can see why, they probably plan to use Trump to pass some of the more screwed up shit that they could never get passed in a sane administration and then scapegoat Trump with it.

But should he step out of line, they can try and declare him "Unfit" and invoke Section 4 of the 25th amendment and remove him from power without an impeachment and replace him with Pence. And since he isn't "One of them" I wouldn't put it past them in the slightest and the more evidence they can get for that claim, the easier it would be for them.

Wouldn't work. The wording of Section 4 is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office" and being a shitty president doesn't qualify.

They can label him as mentally unable to and go from there, that decision is to be made by the vice president and the majority of the principle officers and then congress deciding. He can fight it, but they ultimately make that decision.

And he has already given them so much they could use for proving a mental case against him. To have thing related to hacking or outright corruption tied to him, that would make for an even stronger mental case.

Why would they want war with Russia? That's not in our interests. They're basically a broken down used-to-be-superpower and we have nothing to gain from doing anything other than peacefully going about our business of shutting them out of global affairs through trade and diplomacy.

Such activity is not new to Moscow — the Russians have used similar tactics and techniques across Europa and Eurasia, for example, to influence public opinion there. We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia’s senior-most officials could have authorized these activities.”

Saying we think the hacks “are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts” is far short of saying we have evidence that Russia has been responsible for the hacks. Maybe high-level officials would have authorized them if Russian hackers were responsible, but the DNI and DHS statement did NOT say there was evidence Russia was responsible.
