French politics are fairly easy to follow : right wins, they do good they win again, they do bad left gets the power.
    Wash rince repeat.
Hollande has made the left too unpopular for any movement that even remotely leans left to have a chance.
Fillon and Le Pen will go in the second round and Fillon will win.

If there is to be an outsider, it could be in the form of Emmanuel Macron.

    Well, this is new.

Left wing will loose at first round cause they're dumb enough to send 3 major candidates :

    - Macron, thinks he's is too smart for humanity, said f*** to primary
    - Melenchon is the only vague remain of communism, has also an ago the size of Paris, would kill instead of competing in primary
    - Valls, who has best chances of winning primary, but no one respects this pale copy of Sarkozy

So unless 2 of those find brain or balls to say "No, I can win, I support X", the story is already written : Fillon + Le Pen at 2nd turn, Fillon wins.

it's really funny how a few weeks ago everyone predicted sarkozy to win the right wing primary by a landslide but now all of a sudden the story is already written and it was fillon all along

we're still months ahead of the election

The story didn't change, whoever won the right primary will win unless left do a major change.

FN and right will do an usual 25-30% each
Left will maybe do 30%, but split in 3
What's remaining will be for shit candidates (Dupont Aignan etc...)

2nd turn is for the 2 best individuals, not the best sides overall.

Macron says he is neither left or right and the Parti Socialiste is barely considered left wing anymore, which is the entire basis of melenchon's campaign (anti establishment reject from the masses)

Nobody thought Sarkozy was going to win, before the primary it was pretty close between Sarkozy juppé and fillon.
Fillon won because of a huge turnout from the left who wanted Sarkozy gone.
If there's ANY surprise it'll come from Le Pen, if things get worse with the all terrorism thing.

This year's elections were quite exciting worldwide. Something changed, and you can see it everywhere. My finger is on how Social Medias made each sides live in a political bubble, on both sides.

So you are okay with the citizens of this country taking from our land and not only giving nothing in return, but taking their wealth elsewhere? It's no wonder our roads and infrastructure are in such a sorry state - we give everything to you people and this is how you thank us.

A year that has made liberal democracy out to be a massive joke is 'exciting', apparently.

Corruption is expected, but if that is the only takehome message for you, the point goes way above of your head.

What 'point' is that? That western values are apparently a thin veneer and despite all the advances in education and information the majority of people remain, at their core, stupid? If the west descends into a patchwork of nationalist, protectionist states run by demagogues then there fundamentally isn't anything worth protecting or being interested in maintaining.

But hey, as long as the working class gets their digs in at globalisation, right?

The invention of Google did not make people into smarter beings, no. There never was a reason to believe that it would, either.

And the west is not devolving into anything, it's just being a puppet ; None of that has really changed.

The takehome point, was that the perception was that a lot has changed. The reality of matters, did not.
