The catholic church has a long history of hunting scientists, philosophers, and artists. To this day, religious institutions work tirelessly to slander, smear, and harass scientists. Biologists are persecuted and insulted every day by evolution deniers - and lets not forget heliocentrism deniers, climate change deniers, dinosaur deniers. These deniers are slandering and insulting thousands of scientists, labeling them liars and frauds, accusing them of being part of a global conspiracy.

The denial of evolution can indeed be called "hatespeech". After all, its a slander and smear of thousands of biologists, anthropologists, palioanthropologists, geneticists, and more. And some of these scientists are women! Some of them are persons of color! Surely, that must count for something!

The study of evolution has taught us that we are NOT distinct races that MAGICALLY sprang up in different parts of the world at the command of some god - but in fact, that we are all related. We all share a common ancestry. Are you denying this? If so, then you are racialising people, and accusing an oppressed group (scientists) of being malicious frauds and liars! Don't forget many scientists have been hunted, imprisoned, tortured, and executed, by oppressive theocracies, for hundreds of years. Surely, they fit the description of an oppressed and marginalized group!

And denying climate change is certainly a dangerous view. It endangers the lives of every single person on this planet. And these deniers hold power in nations around the world. How many US congressmen and senators believe climate change is a hoax? Its a lot! If holocaust denial is hateful and dangerous, then SURELY the denial of climate change, which threatens all of us, MUST be the most hateful and the most dangerous idea of all.

So, if you insist on punishing people who deny the holocaust - merely one form of superstitious, conspiracy-theorist crackpottery - then how about we lock up all evolution and climate change deniers too? Sounds fair to me.


While we're at it, let's look at how many non-believers, heretics, and infidels have been hunted and murdered by christians and muslims throughout the ages. Has anybody been keeping count? How many free-thinking women were labeled witches, and subsequently burned to death. Does anybody have a tally? I bet its a lot. So, how about we call religion hatespeech from now on? Thats not going to happen. The only thing that is going to happen is that Facebook has to get rid of hate speech. Which isnt censorship at all. You still may tell everyone on facebook that you dislike all muslims. You just should try to avoid to ask people to be violent against them. Or to use insults. Hate speech is free speech. In fact, free speech almost exclusively describes speech that is upsetting and offensive to a bunch of people, because nobody ever needed a law to protect their right to say stuff that made most people smile happily in agreement.

You know very well Germany will not wait for a individual decision from court but order FB and co. do delete such opinions "or else we fine you into the dirt". Unless a verdict is sought by FB the order will stand. and even if a court says no to the attempt, the opinion will be deleted before.
